Traditional , cosy and simple accommodation based in the heart of Martindale valley . The autumn colours are stunning and the Red Stags are just starting to roar for rutting season.

It’s the oldest herd of Red Deer in the UK. 🦌

Lots of walks on the doorstep , you can tick lots of wainrights off ! Dog friendly and allow two dogs 🐾🐾

£350 for a Three night break

We had a visitor this morning, he came through the garden, across the river and onto the green. He paused a while and let off a few roars then made his way back to the church and the Fell , back to the action!
I watched him from the bedroom window then quickly shot out to get a quick snap before he disappeared again.

Visitors in the garden early this morning. They are here every morning between 5am and 6am.

This time of year is special, the bracken has turned from dark green to a rich rusty red, the mornings are crisp and fresh and even better....if you take a short walk up the road ( around 6 mins ) you can see the Red Deer of Martindale. They are the oldest herd in the United Kingdom and at this time of year they are rutting. The stags bellow and jostle to gain supremacy and the ultimate win which is to breed with the Hinds and produce offspring. This is happening right on our doorstep so any nature enthusiasts , make sure you book to stay this time next year !!
