A charming home from home holiday lodge nestled on a small private estate available for weekend getaways, midweek breaks, and weeklong retreats. The property comes with three cosy bedrooms, enough to sleep six adults, however you could quite easily add a few blow-up beds for young children should you have a bigger party. The lodge has two double beds and one bedroom with twin beds. All with brand
new sumptuous mattresses, a family bathroom with bath and showering facilities. A large entrance hall to welcome those muddy boots and winter coats, equipped with towels, bowls and dog biscuits for your furry friends. The heart of this lovely lodge lies an expansive family area comprising of a well-equipped kitchen, large farmhouse dining table where you can all enjoy eating together or playing one of the many board games provided. With a comfortable living room with a large flat screen TV, complete with free WIFI. Just to top everything off we have added a log burner to warm you up after a long day exploring the breath taking area of the North Lake District. This newly purchased lodge has been updated throughout most of the property, new kitchen appliances and accessories, new beds and mattresses to make your stay as comfortable as possible (which isn’t hard as it’s so peaceful) along with new sofas to relax after a long day of walking or just chilling out watching the vast selection DVDs on offer. If you are lucky, you may spot a red squirrel scurrying about the trees. (The red squirrels are protected in this area of Cumbria)
Come and explore the picturesque area of outstanding beauty in the Lake District’s northern region, taking in the breath taking terrain, local historical villages, historical Castlerigg Stone circle or a hike up one of the many local climbs including Blencathra which is only 10 Minutes drive away. (all of the above is within 10-20minutes drive from the lodge. The location itself is rural, within 10 mins drive you are in the historical village of Greystoke, call in at the Boot and Shoe pub for food and drinks or visit St Andrews’ Church, dating back to 1255. Drive for 10 minutes in the other direction towards Keswick and stop at the foot of Blencathra for the more adventurous walkers. Fear not, there’s another great pub at the bottom to eat and drink in once you have challenged the peak. If you fancy a more tasteful meal, again only 10 minutes drive from the lodge, book a table at the Michelin star restaurant in Skelton, The Dog and Gun.
