Cardigan Castle events : Summer 2024
Once again Castell Aberteifi.Cardigan Castle has a Summer programme of events - Haf yn y Castell '24 . Something for everyone from great live bands to orchestral performances, children's shows to aerial acrobatics and popular theatre, Tickets will be limited so book early, here is the line up known so far:

Co-hosted by the Ceredigion Music Service. Presenter Mari Grug will guide us through performances by Trystan Llyr Griffiths, Gwawr Edwards, Sara Davies this year’s Can i Gymru and Pan Celtic Festival winner, 50 Shêd o Lleucu Llwyd and the stage will be filled by the Ceredigion Youth Choir and Orchestra with a special performance by the pupils from Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi.

Dire Straits Tribute band

A “must see” for any rock enthusiast or Dire Straits fan. The line-up features top-class and experienced musicians that make this band a worthy tribute to Dire Straits. The band have studied Dire Straits in great depth to re-create their tribute to be as close as possible to the real thing and a respectful tribute to their idol and guitar legend.

Illyria – The Gondoliers

Set in picturesque Venice, this light-hearted operetta will whisk you away to a world of blissful romance, barbed satire and comedic chaos. Two charming gondoliers, Marco and Giuseppe, suddenly find themselves elevated to the status of royalty. Each tasked with choosing their Queen from a bevy of beautiful women, hilarity ensues when the rightful Queen arrives demanding to know which of the men is her husband…..

Llareggub Brass band

Owing to the age-old tradition of brass bands from the slate mining villages of North Wales, Llareggub Brass Band arise from the ashes of the past and bring with them an immense dose of heavy brass! Their music invokes the sumptuous flavours of New Orleans marching bands, together with Bronx-inspired Hip Hop and Welsh language pop music.

Fleetwood Mac tribute band

Illyria: The Hound of the Baskervilles

A spectacular new high-impact, high-skill outdoor circus production using only bamboo and human bodies – revealing the fragility and beauty of our interconnected and interdependent life on this planet.
The artists arrive at an empty stage, bringing bundles of bamboo. They build towering sculptures which morph, transform and become an improbable, delicate circus playground that seems to defy the laws of physics.

Collective Flight Circus: “Swyn”

Swyn’ is a bilingual show recalling tales of working the land whilst being supported by a community of women. Ritual, herbs, ceremony and the cycles of light and dark are incorporated into these stories and explored through circus, dance, text and song’.

Craft Festival Wales 2024 will be in Cardigan !
The organiser of a highly successful portfolio of national contemporary craft events, Sarah James MBE will launch a brand-new event in Cardigan. Craft Festival Wales will be held over three days at Castell Aberteifi - Cardigan Castle from 6 – 8 September 2024.
