A great day with inspirational people

Celebrate with us…we just welcomed our 500th guest!

Thank you KIND CORNWALL for your generous support this week and throughout the last six+ years!
This was a very special ‘Walk & Talk’ group of 17 survivors and bereaved, all on their first respite visit, together with three wonderful support workers from the Dedicated Services in Kensington.
More to come on our sunny (and sometimes soggy) 'Walk & Talk' adventures by the sea…we’ll be posting a little on our time together and above all the kindness of so many businesses, organisations and individuals who made it possible.
Watch this space!

Wildlife wonders, Atlantic grey seals on today's coastal exploration. This time of year we can often see grey seals hauled out on land resting from the stormy seas and looking after this seasons pups. Bulls can be up to 300kg, it's always thrilling to see a truly wild large carnivore in it's natural environment, some looking decidedly pleased with themselves though!

It's Thyme!!! From Sat 4th July we are opening for new guided walking bookings exploring all the incredible natural wonders that has to offer. has been a challenging experience for us all and getting a huge dose of natures therapy walking through Cornwall's stunning landscapes is one of the best ways to help re-balance in a Covid-19 world. We have worked hard following guidance from the outdoor regulators, tourism authorities and Public Health England to be able to say and we have Visit Britain Covid-19 Industry Standard accreditation. As a result, we have some new operating systems in place and we can't pick you up at the moment but you can book and join us on the pathways back and get a pack full of the best natural therapy the world has to offer. You may have been noticing more of the natural world around you and we can help you recognise all those (this is wild thyme!) and newly discovered . So get in touch www.exploreincornwall.co.uk and we'll take you to some amazing places.

The sun's been in for the last couple of days here in Cornwall but there's still plenty of natural spectacles on our daily walks. Remember bluebells are poisonous though and if you pick them then you'll be "piskie led" in the woods until someone else comes and finds you or you have a cool guide with you!!

Beetles bogs and beauty - on our next Coronavirus lockdown virtual walk today, we explore some of the amazing wildlife that makes its home on the moors and heathland of west Cornwall, a side of Cornwall away from the rugged coasts and beaches seldom explored. Come out with us and discover it for yourselves when we're all safe - nature's a great healer. Love is in the air even under lockdown!! Bloody nosed beetles mating, showing that spring is in the air. The female will lay her eggs on their food plant, they are monophagus, only feeding on the bedstraws that grow in the hedges and moorland here. Last nights "pink moon" reassuringly watching over us high in the skies over Cornwall promising growth and recovery, still social distancing as it was only 40,000km closer than usual. Named the "pink moon" by Native Americans due to the colour of a native north American plant, wild ground phlox, that flowers early distancing we will be back doing Sunset Trail walks as soon as we can to explore our evening landscapes and nature.

Today's Covid-19 natural therapy included some of our Spring flowers enjoying the sunshine. Alexanders - the first umbellifer to flower, brought here by the Romans. The young stems make an excellent alternative to celery and you can also cook it the same way you would Asparagus. Dog violet, food plant to the caterpillars of some our important fritillary butterflies. Also Herb Robert considered the vegetable counterpart of the Robin and will bring good luck if you look after it - don't we all need some!! Stay safe everybody and we will have a new walking video in the next few days.

24/03/2020

Here's our latest virtual walk to help bring the natural world here in Cornwall indoors. Please follow the Govt Guidance, we are lucky that this is all on our doorstep and we can access it as part of our daily exercise. Please feel free to share these and hopefully we will see some of you in the future for some real walking therapy. https://youtu.be/47Ci9Wt_g8E
