We are less than 10 minutes walk to the beautiful causeway where you can walk along the cobbles or if the tide is in catch a boat to the island

The island boasts an ancient castle fortress, sloping subtropical gardens, sweeping lawns, and a harbour village.

Not too shabby down Porthgwarra and Gwennap bright and early Wednesday morning. 😊

Want to try SUP boarding whilst you are away? Then you don’t have to look any further than the Follyfield and main beach close by where 2 experienced local community minded operators offer hire and tuition. Lawrence at Ocean High Cornwall has a background in marine biology and was one of the first to set up with kite surfing and stand up paddle boarding in West Cornwall and now for experienced SUP’ers is offering the fantastic opportunity below.

Hey everyone. At last it looks like the weather is taking a turn for the better. It feels that we all need to drag ourselves out of a long dark and very wet winter.
To help us all get some much needed Vitamin Sea we would like to start running some adult SUP Socials at Marazion.
Our plan is to start running them on either a Saturday or Sunday (best weather wins) from 8.30-10am and then add an evening session midweek once we are up to speed for anyone that wants it.
We will have a pre-requisite that everyone attending can paddleboard independently (these are not coaching sessions......we may add those from time to time) so if you'd like to attend and haven't paddleboarded before then book into one of our lessons.
To keep things simple it will be free for anyone with their own board and just £10 for anyone that needs to hire one from us.
We will set up a WhatsApp group so that we can notify everyone of the plans and timings. It will allow us to post a poll on the WhatsApp group to determine numbers attending and how many boards are required.
Please DM or email [email protected] with your name and number to be added to the group.
Our first session will be this Sunday 12th at 0830 at Follyfields car park, Marazion. Hope to see all you old faces and some new ones too.

Did you know we offer free parking to all our guests?

These pictures, taken this morning, are of our private car park, this, and the quiet road running through, is all that separates you from the beach, as you can see from the pictures.

Why not give us a call / message / email and book yourself a few days with us while we are still offering short breaks

Passing a shipwreck. Once commonly believed to be the Jeune Hortense it’s now thought by some local historians that it could be either the Petrellen or the Emperor which was helping with the HMS Warspite operation in the 50’s when it got into difficulty. In any case It’s right up the beach near Longrock, opposite the cressar rocks which possibly breached her and caused her doom and when she’s exposed from the sands it’s hard to miss if you are looking out from the fantastic Marazion to Penzance coast path which starts just opposite the nature reserve next to Mounts Bay Caravan Park Marazion Gateway to St. Michael's Mount

Wheal Tolgus Railway Spent a good hour or so yesterday at Wheal Tolgus garden railway we’d been once before when the kids were much smaller but took our son who’s fanatical about trains and had been asking to go. Not a million miles away from where Richard Trevithick first did his thing that changed the world forever,
it is donation only and is run by highly knowledgeable volunteers. There’s model railways galore both inside and outdoors, quirky museums and a replica mine. The train ride is pulled by small diesel engines that once worked deep underground: one at nearby Crofty and one down Geevor! An interesting place to visit and support if you can⛏️🚂🚂
