A beautiful day in Marazion, we started the day walking to St. Michael's Mount, the staff here are all so kind and helpful and today is the first day the castle is open for visitors, you can see how hard they have worked to have this place looking great for all the visitors, if you haven’t already, make sure you book your tickets for your visit when you stay

Did you know we are situated right next to Marazion Marsh? it is Cornwall's largest reedbed. With more than 250 bird, 500 plant, 500 insect and 18 mammal species having been recorded here. If you haven’t stayed with us before zoom in on picture 3 to see the park location. These pictures were taken on Wednesday evening, it’s been so sunny here recently

Face rock. The old man of Venton, his face weathered by a hundred thousand sou’westerlys. He looks out on the bay as he has done since time immemorial. Today he kept his eye on the Newlyn fleet.

It’s very quiet here in Marazion except for lots of bird watchers looking for the very rare Booted Eagle, we are so lucky to be right next to the nature reserve and can see it from our window, but sadly have not seen the eagle yet but we are keeping a look out for it

Withey pots. Porthleven style. Thanks to Tom Chambers expert tuition passing on an endangered craft. Me next to my masterpiece! (Bit of help from Tom and a lot of pre cut willow! But not next time I’m assured!) hard wearing tamarisk to do the bases next week will be cut from trees in the red river and in our car park.
