Wake up to uninterrupted, panoramic countryside views as far as the eye can see in one direction and views straight across to St Michael's Mount and the sea in the other. Conveniently located on the A30 Coast to Coast road just outside St Ives, close to Hayle, Mounts Bay (St Michael's Mount is clearly visible from the windows!) and Penzance, you will find Hufflepuff Lodge attached to The Old Schoo

lhouse in Whitecross. Hufflepuff lodge is fully equipped with the complete Sky Movies & Sky Sport packages, plus super fast Infinity broadband catering for rainy days or just chillax days. Conversely, you will also find a selection of beach equipment, body boards and toys provided for you to enjoy on sunny days! The open top bus in high season (closed top at other times) stops right outside Hufflepuff Lodge to St Ives, Hayle and Truro in one direction or to Mounts Bay, Penzance and Mousehole in the other. The Lamb & Flag Pub with it's excellent restaurant is only a 12 min walk down the hill and often hosts music evenings, BBQs and other events throughout the year. The Star inn, an award winning pub and home of the Penzance Brewing Company, is only a short walk in the other direction, as is a fIsh & chips shop, Spar shop for provisions and Post Office. With many award winning beaches within very close proximity, such as Carbis Bay, St Ives, 3 miles of stunning golden sands at Hayle, Gwitian, Marazion, Praa Sands, Peranuthnoe just to name a few, you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice. Beat the crowds at high season by walking down to St Erth Station where you can get on the famous Lelant to St Ives train and enjoy the breathtaking views on that scenic journey around the bay. Easy access to the South West Costal path and there are lots of footpaths and Geocaching routes to enjoy right on the doorstep. The Tate Gallery, Sculpture Gardens and fabulous tea rooms are within easy reach and the stunning open air Minack Theatre, Lands End experience, Flambards and the Eden Project are just a short drive away. For those who love to shop, Truro is only 20mins away with all the big names you'd expect to see in any large city. It holds it's Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and Penzance has a Farmers Market on a Friday. Hufflepuff Lodge is ideally situated as a convenient base for easy reach of all of the best that beautiful West Cornwall has to offer.

Look who's up at Lands End at the minute! If you go, take a flask or a Costa etc with you, the hotel is closed for refurbishment and you've only got the tourist trap cafe available serving overpriced and very rubbish drinks. That cafe is only open till 3.30pm too, honestly, you're better off taking your own with you.

Fabulous watching the murmurations of Starlings coming in to roost for the evening in the two huge trees at Penzance Wharfside. Get there just before dusk and it's really quite the spectacle. Best spot to watch is in the Wharfside car park on Penzance harbour. Well worth going to see.

Imagine sitting up in your gorgeous comfy bed in a hufflepuff, sipping your morning tea or coffee watching that splendour! Fabulous start to the day!

Heading to St Ives tonight to see in the New Year? Remember it’s fancy dress, you’ll look really odd if you go in normal clothes and that’s the truth. Everyone dresses up! Make the effort, you’ll be glad you did. Fireworks go off at the harbour at midnight. It’ll be a bit blowy tonight but ‘meh’ what’s a bit of wind, we’re used to that down here. So long as it stays dry and it’s meant to, all will be fine.

My absolute favourite time of day, just before sunrise, indigo and burnt orange sky. We are so blessed to have this literally at the end of the road. Wonderful to sit in Long Rock car park with a coffee watching the sun come up over St Michael's Mount.

Lands End sunset this evening. Pure magic.

Early morning swim with our Son, James, at Porthminster Beach, St Ives. 💕 (9am and not a single parking space to be had in the Station car park. Oh the joys of a bank holiday!)

Everybody loves a little Sunset paddle, even these guys! Peace and quiet in high season at Marazion Beach, literally at the bottom of the road from Hufflepuff Lodge. Perfect 💕

Even in peak Summer when its sheer bedlam in tourist hot spots like St Ives you can still find peace just a few minutes up the road 💕

Mackerel Sky is looking pretty fab at Marazion beach this evening approaching sunset 💕

Timed that just right! Arrived at Porthminster Beach in St Ives to pick our Son up from work (he’s Front of House at the utterly fabulous Porthminster Beach Cafe, he’s called James, say hello if you see him!) and we saw a lovely fireworks display start up right infront of us! An unexpected treat to round off a wonderful Summer’s day.
