📣 Important announcement: Cornwall’s health and care system has this evening (Friday 3 Jan 2025) declared a system critical incident. This is due to the level of pressure on our health services and this action will enable us to take immediate steps to help keep people safe and focus on those most in need of our care.

🙏Please help us keep the public informed by sharing this message and following our important advice set out in this post.

🏥 If you need urgent care today, you can visit our urgent treatment centre at West Cornwall Hospital which is open 8am until midnight as an alternative to the emergency department.

🩺There are 10 minor injury units across the area. Please check online for locations, opening and wait times before you leave, as your nearest may not be the quickest: https://www.cornwallft.nhs.uk/miu-waiting-times

🚑Please only call 999 or attend the Emergency Department if you have a serious or life-threatening condition.

🤧If you are unwell with flu, norovirus, COVID-19, please don’t go to a health setting such as the emergency department and our minor injury units or visit a loved one in hospital. Please use our NHS 111 online service first for advice. You can help us by not spreading your illness to others, instead stay home, get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.

🏥Have a loved one in hospital? Please be ready to support them home from hospital and don’t visit if you are unwell. Staff on the ward can advise on how you can help – including providing one off financial payments if needed.

‼️ FESTIVAL CUP AMNESTY ‼️ How many of you have dozens of these at home?! We’re working with Penzance & Newlyn RFC to make the club a Refill PZ site … and we need your cups 💙

The club puts all its money into community sport and up keep of the ground and buildings. They thought - how can we get the cups we need to ditch disposables on club and match days?🤔🤔

We both reckon across town there are hundreds of pint cups sat in cupboards that could be donated. So if you have any … please drop them in a collection point at the club entrance off Alexandra Road 🙏
