All Perth and Kinross Schools and Early Learning and Childcare settings will be closed tomorrow (Friday 24 January) as a precaution because of Storm Eowyn.

We understand the impact this will have on parents and carers but the safety of our children and young people is our priority.

UHI Perth will also be closing its campus, which means pupils will be unable to attend placements there on Friday.

Remote learning will be provided for pupils.

All school lets will also be cancelled tomorrow in the interests of safety.

We expect schools to be open as normal on Monday, January 27.

UPDATE: The Friarton Bridge is now reopened.

The Friarton Bridge is currently closed to traffic because of a fire in premises on Lower Friarton Road.

Traffic will be diverted through Perth.

Scottish Fire and Rescue is advising people living nearby keep their windows closed due to the volume of smoke.
