I wanted to post this on my personal page as well as on my business page, as sometimes I'm not sure that people understand what I do for a living and what makes Travel Counsellors unique.

People often ask why should they book with me, a Travel Counsellor and not the internet or someone in town. My reply to them is always that 'I care' and 'am there for them 24/7', you are ATOL covered and we fully financially protect every penny of your hard earned cash - no if's, no but's.

These last few days have proved without a shadow of doubt that I work alongside the best colleagues with the best technology and a support back up at Head Office which is unrivalled in the travel industry. My customers have had the best service in re-booking their holidays and I've been on the end of the phone for as many hours a day as they've needed me to be.

PLEASE think twice before you book online - you might sometimes save yourself a few pounds in the initial instance but it has cost so many a lot more because they booked online and not with a trusted Travel Agent.

💛💛 Although I never worked for Thomas Cook myself the high street Travel Industry is where I started out and I have many industry friends who have, or still do work for them... As well as a High Street Agent, they are also a long established tour operation that I have booked many holidays through over the years... As an industry we are all routing for Thomas Cook to get through this.
Please for those concerned about your own individual holidays please be kind and patient with the staff, that will all be working to try and help you whilst putting their own personal worries aside! 💛💛

So you have air miles ...
You prefer to book your own travel...
you begrudge paying a travel agent ....
You assume we are more expensive but you don’t bother to ask ....

I can usually hold flights off giving you time to check and get funds together

We have a secure payment link which protects you and me

Even if you have booked already, I can still book car parking, airport hotels, airport lounges (exactly the same price as online so why not let me earn a pound or two) transfers in resort, day trips, experiences.

I book many thousands of hotels, all over the world and sort any problems out. All these are health and safety checked and our insurance covers any company we use that goes bust. Usually on the rare occasions this happens. I can sort this out before the client even realises there is a problem

I offer Australian ETAs as part of the service when booking flights to Australia

A lot of our flight and hotel contracts are package rates so it’s actually cheaper to book the flight and the hotel together. On the odd occasion it has been cheaper for me to do flight and hotel cheaper than flight only

You get the benefit of someone with nearly 50 years experience in the industry and if there is somewhere I haven’t been I certainly know someone who has so I can offer you a lot of tips and recommendations

But very few as I do most things myself

There are occasions when things don’t go to plan
My clients can contact me, if they need to they can
And if I can’t help, then don’t despair
