Where are we? Hartoft, a little hamlet near the better known village of Rosedale Abbey, the nearest town is Pickering and not too far from coastal towns such as Whitby, 35 miles north of the city of York and we are actually situated in the stunning North York Moors National Park.
Dalby Forest, a bit of a dull day but good views to the Langdale Forest on part of the Jerry Noddle trail.
Loved the sheep sculpture by Fiona Bowley. A Winged Sheep carved in a sandstone rock, a small shrine (an aedicula). The small procession of sheep bow and kneel in homage to the Winged Sheep above them and almost looked like they were smiling!
Sunny walk at the beach and stumbled across these little artworks 😊
….and of course little Pip is quite happy about the snow fun 😆
It was that time of year again….the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Steam Gala Festival and 50th Anniversary, we loved the event and the real ale beer festival at Goathland, great beer selection! Even got a pint of Beckwater from Birch Hall Inn Beckhole before it ran out 😋😁😁 🍺🍻
Walk around the Cleveland Hills this weekend enjoying the heather views. This part is on Cleveland Way and I love how quiet the North York Moors National Park remains on a sunny (earlier) August bank holiday! 😁😊
Following a delicious lunch at the wonderful Lockton Tea Rooms & Gallery 👍 with Pip the dog 🐶 being extremely good 😊 we had a lovely walk up through the forest from Levisham Station at North Yorkshire Moors Railway and delighted to view this beauty passing by, never get tired of seeing them 😀😁😊
Good view of North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Esk Valley between Goathland and Grosmont 😁🚂😁
A tad choppy at sea at Sandsend beach! 🌊 you can walk along the beach between Whitby and Sandsend and there are some good options for food and drink 🍺 ☕️ 🫖 🐟 🦀
A few daffodils remaining further up the lane too 😊
