The decorations have been packed away and we have waved goodbye to the last of our New Year guests but we have lots to keep us busy in the coming weeks with spring cleans and a big roof renovation for Rosedale, Farndale and Bransdale.

We are thrilled and very proud to have been recently presented with a Visit England ROSE Award for 2024.

The ROSE Award is given to 100 accommodation providers across England and acknowledges establishments whose management and employees provide the best service, a warm welcome and outstanding experiences for their customers.

Kathrine travelled to Newbury to accept the award on behalf of the Kitching family who started the business 45 years ago. We are hugely thankful to our team, from housekeepers to gardeners, who love and care for the cottages with outstanding attention to detail, ensuring our guests have an excellent and memorable experience at Hungate.

Are you thinking of a North Yorkshire holiday this August with friends? Even better if you each have your own space!

Farndale (sleeps 5) and Rosedale (sleeps 6) are situated side by side with an interconnecting door. Rosedale has a large enough dining area to accommodate everyone. A shared children's play area on site, parking for up to 4 cars in our main car park. Set in a peaceful courtyard yet walking distance to the market town of Pickering for shops, restaurants and direct access to heritage steam trains and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

For now both cottages are still available for 7 nights from August 17th.

Saltersgate Cottage sleeps up to 7, with a spacious sitting room with open fire, and a large separate kitchen diner. See link to our website for more details and remaining available dates in June, early July, and August.
