A day of rest I think after 20 months of renovating this 3 storey late Victorian cottage situated in a tranquil, leafy part of Pickering overlooking the NYMR

As our first guests were arriving yesterday after booking early 2024 the last 2 weeks have seen us working 18 hours a day to complete on time.

We have invested an eye-watering amount of money renovating the cottage; which was stripped to a bare shell, rooms reconfigured, old brick walls insulated to latest regulations, roof replaced/repaired, installing a new heating system, full rewire to include latest integrated smoke/heat detection system, emergency lighting finishing off with a solid Ash quality kitchen, Victorian bathrooms, Karndean flooring, oak staircases snd expensive fixtures and fittings

The steps leading down to the elevated sun-trap garden with stunning views over Pickering and beyond, in particular the NYMR has been completely reconfigured and fitted with Composite Decking, top of the range rattan furniture for alfresco dining, glass balustrading and a variety of Mediterranean plants.

Being west-facing guests can enjoy superb sunsets over the Moors

Clear View has been independently inspected and we are delighted to have received a 5* quality rating!

For total peace of mind North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue have also inspected all our cottages to ensure they comply with the latest short term let me safety requirements

The extensive, no expense spared, renovation works continue at pace now! 20 months of hard work, Clear View is being transformed into a 5 star holiday cottage and the views over the NYMR, Pickering and Moors beyond from the upper floor in this stunning 3 storey house in this morning’s sunshine were simply breathtaking

We aim to be open in May/June and taking bookings now…..

If you’re lucky enough to be visiting our pretty town over Easter weekend then you could stop by to take in our first Artisan Market with stalls situated both inside and outside the Memorial Hall Pickering, at the bottom of our Market Place and by the beautiful Beck Isle Museum, Pickering.

Why? Because a fair few cars are still in storage till March so... Youll have to wait and see for the other themed meets...😆

Weve also heard on the grapevine we might even have a fair few mustangs due in too...

As this is new, we are looking forward to it growing from here and having a fair few mixed meets to happen throughout 2024...!

After a full, comprehensive, no expense spared total renovation we are on target to open this stunning 3 storey, part subterranean late Victorian cottage set in to Castle Bank at the foothill of Pickering Castle enjoying incredible elevated views over the NYMR historic and steam railway, in late March/Early April

Following a reconfiguration, new roof, exposing stone walls, opening the original fireplaces (which had been covered up), full rewire to include emergency lighting., smoke/heat detectors in every room etc, very expensive new sash windows and doors we are busy painting throughout; as the new central heating system is being fitted next week and the new kitchen and bathrooms scheduled for early February

Guests will be able to enjoy luxury accommodation over 3 floors all with incredible views over Pickering and the Howardian Hills and North York Moors in the distance

The revised accommodation will now feature 2 double bedrooms and bathroom on the upper floor, kitchen and living room on the middle floor from which there is access into Pickering where the NYMR station is just a few metres away in addition to the plethora of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants

A further living area/snug together with utility area & WC/shower room and bedroom are ideally positioned on the lower floor with direct access to the garden from which you can look over the rooftops down to the railway

The garden is West Facing enjoying fabulous sunsets as well as incredible views
