A little girl born this evening to Hattie, one of our young cows.
The wheat harvest is well underway at Keld Knowle, let’s hope the weather holds!
The school holiday children’s playground has arrived at Keld Knowle farm and was in full use before we finished building it! Pitches available next week!
The cows, the campers and the staff at Keld Knowle were happy to finally see some sunshine today!
The cows are out!! After a long wet winter the ground has dried up enough for the cows to go out into the fields.
Mrs Duck has done it again! Look carefully to see her clutch of ducklings, sadly she’s one less already as the cat had one for breakfast 🙁
Somebody was happy to see the sunshine today!
It was thirsty work for our rolly polly little cow Cinnamon, she had a pretty little heifer calf this afternoon.
Sometimes our horse, Bobby, just can not contain himself!
I think the rain is driving the cows crazy! They were all very skittish when they came in to be milked this afternoon.
Look closely to see the duck and her 15 tiny ducklings on our pond, filmed from the window of our Farndale holiday home.
We rescued Hilda the hedgehog and her 5 hoglets from our muck pit. They’ve had four days of fine dining and recoupment before we returned them to the hedge bottom this evening (well away from the muck pit!)
There is going to be a lot of tractor action this weekend as we cut the grass to make into silage for the cows feed next winter. Don’t forget it’s pizza night tomorrow night on the campsite, please message me your order, tel 07932 220843
Today was the day the cows all look forward to! Due to the drought last summer all our silage has run out so they have had to go out despite the fields still being too wet. Let’s hope it continues to dry up!
This is our farm cat ‘Ketchup’, she’s found a new friend to cuddle up with on cold, wet days!
Today was the day the cows were turned out into the field after a long winter in the sheds. Despite the fields still being wet we have run out of silage to feed them, so let’s hope we get plenty of warm sunshine to make the grass grow!
