So delighted to claim the FIRST Pitlochry Eco Business Badge for The Paddle Nook which rewards tourist businesses which host visitors in a way which has as little impact on our planet as possible.

There are thousands of beds for visitors in Pitlochry so 'greener' hosting can make a real difference.

I have pledged to take many steps to become as ‘green’ as possible - recycling waste, composting, using energy more efficiently, minimising plastic use, using eco-friendly cleaning products etc.

We also use lots of Handam refill station CIC refills and products as eco friendly alternatives - recycled loo roll, washing up liquid, shampoo etc! Such a great resource on our doorstep!

Returning from my first one-mile swim this morning!

I am so happy to have set up our local swimming group which meets every Fri and Sat at 10am in

Such a wonderful, friendly and supportive group of (mainly) women, young and old. It really is the highlight of many of our weekly diaries. The minute you immerse in the (max 18 degrees) water, troubles tend to melt away. Cliche but true.

Tonight, just over a week since the devastating fire ripped down Scottish Crannog Centre, their creative, warm and resilient team hosted a wonderful event filled with traditional music, circus performance, fire, reflection and a lot of love to celebrate the summer solstice.

New season, new decor! We’re freshening things up here at The Paddle Nook before we open next week. I made these screens at East London Printmakers when I lived in London. I love the wonkiness and rawness of screens that are used for printing, all the paint splatters and experiments and thought they add a wee something to the living area.

I’m looking to display / sell prints / artwork by other local artists - get in touch if you’re interested!

We've been nurturing a budding chandler over lockdown!

It’s been great to rent our space to Lisa - a creative entrepreneur and overall lovely person, over winter, who has started a new business Rock & Rose Rituals during her time here. She sells her candles and bathing kits on Etsy and is developing a special range for !

En route from Skye to Portugal, Lisa stopped off in her camper van Pitlochry, felt a good energy and decided to stay! Sometimes when we trust our instincts, flow happens and the universe helps us with our dreams!

We love the at night. A fire with friends, charcoal making, marshmallow cooking and wine. Dreamy. We only have two slots left for bookings in May (10-13, 22-27) so be quick if you fancy a getaway that is good for the soul!
