Carswell Holidays is nestled on a working organic farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just moments from the stunning South Devon coastline.

Our holiday cottages reflect this ethos, with all cleaning products—including washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets—carefully selected to meet stringent environmental standards. We provide ‘aqua balls’ for laundry, offering a detergent-free alternative, and encourage guests to dry clothes naturally, reducing reliance on tumble dryers.
Sustainable energy is at the heart of our operation: heating is supplied by a biomass boiler, while solar panels power much of the electricity used across the cottages.
The farm itself is a haven for wildlife, with a rich diversity of plants and animals. From hares and badgers to bats and barn owls, Carswell is teeming with life. It’s one of the rare places in the UK where you may spot the elusive Cirl Bunting, and each year, a pair of Peregrine Falcons nest on the nearby cliffs.

In partnership with the RSPB, we help protect local birdlife. We maintain several pairs of nesting skylarks and ensure that wildflower meadows and grasslands are left undisturbed until late summer, giving seeds a chance to drop and ground-nesting birds a safe environment to thrive.
We dedicate 40 acres of land solely to preserving wildlife habitats.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve planted thousands of trees, creating vital wildlife corridors from the clifftop to the heart of the farm.
We carry out regular flora and fauna surveys to monitor and safeguard the health of our natural environment.
