Our wonderful Alex has recently returned back from her Family Holiday where she stayed at the RIU ATOLL in the MALDIVES followed by the RIU DUBAI in DUBAI 😍

She had a Fabulous time and is already planning her next trip back 🤭

Below we find out what Alex thought about the Maldives and also shares her top tips. She has also included her best holiday deal for you all to check out 🥰

Q. If you could describe the Maldives in one word, what would it be?
A. Paradise 🏝️

Q. What are your top tips to share?
A. Make sure you take factor 50 sun-cream, as even though it may seem like your usual holiday weather, its so much hotter than you think. We all burnt on the 1st day ha! 😅
Also, make sure you download the RIU APP, as this is where you book all your A' la 'Carte restaurants and find out what entertainment is on each day 💃

Q. Are there different room options to book?
A. Yes, they have 3 different room options at the RIU Atoll. Double room with Sea View, Beachfront Double with Sea View and Over water Bungalow. We had the Beachfront Double room with Sea View which was incredible. Each morning we would open our door and step right onto the beach, i have included a photo for you all to see 😍 (The RIU Palace Maldives had a few more room types)

Q. Are they any trips you can do whilst in the Maldives?
A. Absolutely. There are 3 trips i would recommend for anyone..
Snorkelling Tour from only £48 per adult (My partner did this and said it was amazing)
Dolphin watching tour from only £72 per adult
& Also the Sunset Cruise from only £40 per adult. This was very popular and sold out each night.

Q. If i stay at the RIU Atoll, can i use the RIU Palace Maldives?
A. The 2 hotels are joined by a walk way, but sadly if you stay at the RIU Atoll, you can not use the RIU Palace Maldives. However anyone staying at the RIU Palace can use the RIU Atoll and all their facilities. 🌴

Q. Is there any water sports that i can do?
A. Yes. You are able to use the Kayaks, Stand up paddle board and pedalos all FREE of charge. There is a charge for the banana boat and any motorised water sports. This is all paid locally.
You can also take advantage of the FREE scuba diving lesson they give you in the pool. 🤿

Q. I am not very good on my feet, how accessible is the Island?
A. The Island is very flat, meaning its accessible to get everywhere. There are no steps into any restaurant, bar or venue. They also have buggy carts that will pick you up from your room and take you anywhere you need to be. ☀️

Q. How easy was it to get to the Maldives?
A. We flew from Manchester to Dubai. We then flew from Dubai to Male airport in the Maldives. These flights were with Emirates. We then had a domestic flight from Male airport to Kudahuvadhoo airport with Manta airlines. From there we had a transfer from the airport to the port which is where we then boarded a small boat to take us to the RIU Atoll Island. So, as you can see, it was a very long journey, but it was all worth it. I think the excitement took over on the way there, so it didn't seem as bad. ✈️
