Honoured to have been asked to help with this booking.

One of my Tropic Teamies contacted me as she and her husband will celebrate a special wedding anniversary in September this year; having cruised for their honeymoon, they wanted to for this special holiday and asked for my help.

We looked at a few itineraries sailing with different cruise lines and yesterday settled on a lovely itinerary sailing on MSC Divinia.
They will fly from Manchester to meet the ship in Rome and then port in Mykonos, Kusadasi, Santorini, Naples and then back to Rome to fly home to the UK.
This itinerary felt special to them as they will be in Santorini on the their anniversary 🇬🇷

Taking advantage of MSC’s current ‘Wave’ promotion, they secured the Premium Extra Drinks Package and Gratuities all included in the costs and treated themselves to an Aurea Balcony Cabin.

Who knew a Jeremy V. call- in could cause such controversy and upset to a whole industry?

Part of today’s show was a discussion around parents being fined by schools for taking their children out of school in term time to holiday.

EVERY caller blamed the Travel Agents for the inflated prices over school holidays, with no correction made.

As a result, the whole industry is feeling angry, upset but also misunderstood😕

This is something that comes up often and is incorrect…

Pricing is set by the airlines, resorts, hotels, attraction sellers etc - and feeds into tour operators who package the product to meet ATOL & ABTA standards.

Agents have Zero control over pricing.

As a mummy of a child in school, I also have to pay the extortionately hiked prices to travel in school holidays…

Is it fair? No

But it’s not our fault…

Productive meeting with Dylan Wi******er, Fundraising Manager, yesterday and I am really pleased to announce my new charity travel partner - Sight Life.

Sight Life (formerly known as Cardiff Institute for the Blind), offers a wide range of local services to support blind and partially sighted people across much of South Wales. Their mission is to help people live independent, active, social, and fulfilling lives.

Established in 1865, they are one of Wales' oldest charities and on 1st April this year will celebrate their 160th birthday!

Rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards, CBE, is their President with Wales' renowned female impersonator, Ceri Dupree, is a patron and I am now their Travel Partner.

As one of my Partners in Travel, Sight Life will benefit every time one of their staff, friends and family, supporters, volunteers or members books a holiday, cruise or short break with me.

I am really excited to be working them and I will be supporting them as much as I can, starting with their ‘Challenge 160’ this year.

Booked!

A two week, multi- centre India itinerary for new customers looking to celebrate a friend’s 60th birthday.

This has been a wonderful itinerary to work on and also a little complicated - the brief was for two weeks with the first being exploration taking in the must- see attractions in India and then the second, a week’s R&R.

The trip will see the customers fly into Delhi and whilst there do an Old & New Delhi Sightseeing and an Agra Fort excursion and then stay in Agra to be able to take in the Taj Mahal at sunrise! 🌅

Moving onto Jaipur, they will visit the Amber Fort and do a Temples excursion with a cooking experience included, where they will go to the market for their produce.

Last stop is Mumbai, where they can have some downtime however, I have arranged two excursions where they will take in a Senses walk and also a Street Food Tour.

This holiday will fully immerse my customers in Indian culture 🇮🇳

Working with one of NJT’s key trade partners, Kuoni, I have been able to meet their brief and everything has been confirmed this week:

5 flights
4 hotels
1 car with driver for the first week
7 attractions…
… all ATOL protected and ABTA bonded meaning my customers can travel with complete piece of mind.

I always say at the beginning of an enquiry that I will tweak the itinerary until you are 100% happy - in this instance, we priced Economy and Premium Economy flights (the latter chosen), looked at 4 hotel options in Mumbai with varying room categories also; only when they were 100% happy did we arrange the deposit payment.
