Cannot fault Sandbanks View in any way. The perfect place for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. The view from the living area and balcony are amazing. It was so nice to sit and watch the world go by. Clean & comfortable, beds & pillows amazing ensuring a good nights sleep. We were sorry to leave and would love to return.

Red sky in morning. It was so cold yesterday I had thick ice on the inside of my car. It took so long to clear my car that I made it just in time to capture this beautiful sky against the white frost. It was -5.5 degrees but I was so exhilarated by this morning and its delights that I didn’t feel cold at all. What a morning!

Well autumn has well and truly arrived. As I type this I’m dripping wet like a drowned rat and shivering with the cold after a quick trip out in the lashing rain. But it was a totally different story first thing this morning - the calm before the storm. Getting out to take photos in the week is getting pretty impossible for me now but I was able to just sneak out for a quick 20 minutes to nearby Holes Bay.

Have you seen the powerful art installation ‘In Memoriam’ by Luke Jerram down on which is a part of the 2020 Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival.

‘In Memoriam’ is an artwork by Luke Jerram being presented on Sandbanks beach, his beautiful, memorial installation offers a place for the public to visit to remember those we have lost during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Created from over 100 bedsheets a giant sea of flags has been installed across the sand, symbolically reflecting the people who have passed.

Arranged in the form of a medical logo, the installation also pays tribute to the brave NHS staff members and volunteers who continue to risk their lives to care for the thousands affected by the coronavirus.

What with a new job and the kids going back to school today I definitely had no plans to go out for sunrise this morning! But when I could see the sky was about to kick off I just had to rush to one of my local beauty spots - Upton Heath. I was at this same spot just a few days ago with an almost identical cloud pattern (check out my timeline for the photo) - only difference being that cloud block on the horizon last time around scuppered the chance of a pre-sunrise red sky. I not only had the red sky today but also had more mist this time. A gorgeous morning!
