Hello everyone and a very Happy New Year to all our customers past and present from Nigel and Gill at Les Pourciaux Cottage Alderney.

Summer 2022 was a fantastic summer and it was great to be able to welcome back our UK guests, many of whom had not been able to visit for two years due to isolation requirements, along with our new found ‘Bailiwick Bubble’ friends! 2022 was preceded by our busiest ever year in 2021, thanks to the ‘Bailiwick bubble’, and now summer 2023, hopefully with no travel restrictions, will be upon us before we know it!

We’ve not posted for a while but it’s now time to concentrate on the coming year. We are already pretty booked up for the peak period, but currently have space prior to 1 April and after 9 September. And if any of you fancy an early or late break away there’s a lovely wood-burning stove to keep you cosy in the cottage.

During the high summer season we still have the following one week slots available:-

Sat 8-Sat 15 April
Sat 15-Sat 22 April
Sat 27 May-Sat 3 June
Sat 1-Sat 8 July

Also due to a cancellation we have the two week slot available from Sat 15 to Sat 29 July - this is a very popular time and will only be sold as a two week booking.

During the summer season we only take week long bookings (Saturday to Saturday) and at other times we limit stays to a minimum of 4 nights.

Anyone interested will find lots more information and photographs on our website Lespourciauxalderney.co.uk or message us direct on FB or WhatsApp. We are very happy to answer any questions about the cottage or the island and to give advice if required regarding getting to us.

As many of you will know already, the Dornier planes do get very booked up in advance for the summer period so do be sure to plan your travel as early as possible.

Many of you will have heard the very exciting news from just before Christmas that our runway and airport is to get a (long overdue) major overhaul. Unfortunately it is not due to be completed until quarter 2 of 2025 so we are keeping everything crossed that things go to plan!

At Les Pourciaux Cottage amid these very weird and frustrating times, we are very happy to be making the most of the Alderney summer and welcoming visitors from the Bailiwick (and even a few from further afield) all summer long.

During your stay with us, a visit to L'Etoc Après Beach Bar between Saye and Arch beaches is an absolute must. Only a short walk away, this pop-up summer venue is open during August from 5-9pm, Mondays and Wednesdays, and with delicious food on offer from the Georgian 'Box' it is one of the best places to watch the sunset🌅

**AVAILABILITY FOR SUMMER 2021**

With the plan to open bailiwick borders in July - it seems hopeful that the existing bookings from the UK for July onwards will remain in place (though of course there are no guarantees). Obviously this is good news for our UK visitors but less so for Bailiwick residents who were hoping to come and see us this summer!

So… if any Bailiwick residents would like to fit in a stay with us it would be a good idea to get in before the borders open. Due to cancellations, we can now offer the following weeks…

We are offering £100 off 7 night stays up until 26 June.

A number of you from within the Bailiwick have wait-listed for dates in July, August and September and we will be in touch if we get any cancellations for this period.

It’s nice to know that Spring and Summer are on their way… here’s hoping for a bright and sunny spring and a warm summer….. ☀️

Very sadly for some UK guests who can no longer travel to Alderney as planned in May, we have received another cancellation.

Dates now available are:-

Thurs 27 May - Sat 5 June

Ideally we are aiming to sell this 9 night period at last years prices, the total for the booking being £1165.

Alternatively a one week booking within these dates at this year’s new rates will be £935.

Please message us if interested.

At present we are still full from 3 July through to 26 September. However these bookings are mostly UK guests and it is as yet unclear whether or not the isolation rules will be lifted to allow these bookings to go ahead. As time goes by this should become clearer. Any dates which become available due to cancellations will be posted here.

Now that we are thinking of putting the winter behind us and spring is not far away, we are gearing up for our summer season once more and can advise of a few weeks which have recently become available in the summer due to cancellations...

Sat 5 to Sat 12 June
Sat 19 to Sat 26 June
Sat 26 June to Sat 3 July

With the way things are currently it appears these weeks will only be available to Bailiwick of Guernsey visitors, provided our Bailiwick bubble is back up and running by then...we certainly hope it will be! 🤞🤞

Do get in touch if you are interested in these dates... we can be flexible with regard to refunding deposits if necessary.
