Creagan Station played a vital role as part of the Ballachulish branch line, connecting Connel Ferry on the main line of the Callander and Oban Railway with Ballachulish. It welcomed its first passengers on 24 August 1903, marking an important milestone in the region's transportation history. 🚂🗺️

What made Creagan Station unique among its counterparts was the presence of an island platform. This distinctive feature added to its charm and convenience, allowing passengers to easily board and disembark from the trains. A siding was also situated to the east of the platform, enhancing the station's operational capabilities. 🚉✨

Throughout the years, Creagan Station witnessed various additions to its facilities. In the mid-1930s, it served as a temporary home to a caravan provided by the LMS (London, Midland and Scottish Railway). This accommodation option offered travelers a unique way to experience the beauty of the Scottish countryside. Additionally, a camping coach was positioned here by the Scottish Region from 1961 to 1964, providing further convenience to adventurers exploring the area. 🚎⛺

However, as the dynamics of transportation evolved, Creagan Station saw its final chapter come to a close. On 28 March 1966, the Ballachulish Branch of the Callander and Oban Railway ceased operations, leading to the closure of this cherished station. Although its physical presence may be gone, the spirit and memories of Creagan Station continue to live on in the hearts of those who cherish its heritage. 🌟📜

"The Porters Rest Shepherds Hut is lovely. Really well provisioned with the beautiful outside bath. A really special place with everything you could need from bathrobes, toiletries, teas and coffees plus a funky record player. Lots of fun and the owners were really helpful. Even checking I got back from my hill walk safely. Thanks so much."
