Ardencraig gardens. Wow what a place. It's council run and a nursery - they grow all the plants for display in Rothesay. Absolutely stunning. You can buy some of the plants at cheap prices. Really knowledgeable groundsmen too. It's a win win!

One aspect of the Boot Room at Fircliff. Space to put wet coats, muddy boots plus wet and muddy dogs! Ed recycled all of these items out of wood left from the previous owner. We think they are from one of his many boats.

Bute has one of the longest running Jazz festivals. This year they are doing something different - Bute Manouche from 25-27 October 2019, which will be Scotland’s first Gypsy Jazz Festival. Tickets are selling fast!

We took the City Sightseeing bus tour around Bute. Excellent commentary and learnt some things too. Best bits though were the views - this is the small island of Inchmarnock which lies to the west of Bute. It's up for sale offers over £1.4 million. Quite cheap when you think of it!

Bought this at the recent art walk that's held every year on the Isle of Bute. I love the florescent shimmers that have been fused into the glass. We get a lot of seaweed around Bute - in fact we have a shop that sells it - you can eat, drink or soak in it.

Love this photo. Two men of senior years battling it out on the table football! Apparently it was a very close match. You can't stay at Fircliff without some level of table football competition!

Met up with the guy that runs Wild Bute. He does some really interesting tours from visiting Viking parliaments to spotting basking sharks and Buzzards. So much to see!

Mount Stuart is a pretty impressive place. Full of history and fine detail. They also have a lot of exhibitions and fairs on throughout the year. you can also rent it as a wedding venue - Paul McCartney's daughter got married here.
