Islay offers so much in the way of beauty, history and adventure, it's really no surprise that we have so many return visitors. Whether this is your first visit or your twentieth, there is always something to see and do. This month we're highlighting some of our favourite places, we hope some of them will make it on to your 'to-do list' during your visit.

7. Watching the sunset at Black Rock on Loch Indaal

Situated at the head of Loch Indaal, directly to the east of Uiskentuie Strand, you'll discover the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Islay offers some of the most spectacular sunsets, so it's worth making an occasion of it. We recommend taking a picnic, as this sheltered spot offers you a moments respite from the Atlantic wind.

As you tuck into your sandwiches on the sand, look out for the big black rock which this particular beach is named after - it's difficult not to miss!
