An amazing find - great little cabin with everything you need in a perfect location. Ideal for travelling around the Island and within walking distance of 3 great whisky distilleries (the furthest is less than 30 mins by foot). Ron and Emma were both extremely hospitable, and were full of great suggestions for places to visit. Couldn't recommend this place more.”

After promising a guest to share our sourdough order from The Island Bakehouse then finding out they were having a well earned break we needed to bake some bread. Not sourdough, an overnight, one pot bread with Wessex Mill cobber bread flour. Friday is delivery day on islay for the island Bakehouse, happy to add to our order if you are arriving at the weekend.

What a fantastic road trip, if you have booked to come to could easily combine. Kennacraig ferry port is part of the route.

The Kintyre 66 is a 66-mile circular loop around the west and east coast of Argyll's peninsula.

These smoked mussels are so delicious. Campbells in Port Ellen is an Aladdins cave of food, drink, hardware, newspapers. Fantastic deli counter, wholefoods , drinks and specialist diet products. Great place to pick up picnic items.

If you would like to hire bikes, path opposite is great for them, contact Jim at Islay Cycles or for electric bicycles .

Met these lovely people 4 years ago. We had a morning of cycling lessons, so they hired bikes. Before leaving, they bought bikes from me and they have gone from strength to strength. Back again to hire bikes. As they said, "It's never too late to start cycling and benefit your health."
