THE ROAR OF CORRYVRECKAN
THE ROAR OF CORRYVRECKAN
We headed up to Corryvreckan yesterday and it was roaring full force 🌊
It was a spectacular experience to see up close and in the midst of it all!
A little bit of rain only added to how dramatic it was 😁
Photos and videos never do this place justice, but hopefully it shows you all how strong it has been the past couple of days!
Islay Bagpipes 🎵
Whilst we sat at Lagavulin Distillery waiting for guests, our very own Gus played a wee tune for some of our other guests passing by on a Wildlife Tour 😁
Blue skies, boat trips, whisky distilleries, Lords of the Isles castle ruins and some bagpipes!
What more could you want!
Sound on to catch Captain Harold’s wise words at the very end 🤣
A glorious Thursday ☀️
Yesterday was a stunning day on Islay, with the sun shining and hardly a breeze (a little different to today!)
We had a fantastic charter that included a stop at Lagavulin Distillery, a bit of wildlife spotting and some delicious local seafood 🦞
And not to forget some bagpipe tunes from Gus 🎵
More videos of that coming soon!
More days like this please! 😁
Soliders Rock & Sea Cave
Soldiers Rock & Sea Cave
On Tuesday, we had a lovely evening on the water!
On board Queen of the Hebrides, the headed around the Mull of Oa.
We spotted sea bird colonies, highland cows, goats and the mighty Golden Eagle
After viewing the American Monument from the sea (a special location for our charter guests 🤫💍) we then headed to Soliders Rock and Sea Cave
We slowly snuck the boat into the cave, always a magical experience! 😁

Island hopping ☀️
Island hopping ☀️
Saturday was a beautiful day for some hebridean island hopping!
We headed out from Islay and picked guests up from Colonsay, making our way to Iona via some stunning bays on the east coast of Colonsay
We had great sightings of seabirds, a Minke Whale and a small pod of Bottlenose Dolphins on route
On Iona, guests enjoyed some time on the island before joining us back on the boat and then over to Mull
We anchored in the bays on the south of Mull as guests enjoyed a seafood lunch 😍
Afterwards, we sailed back to Colonsay via the west side
Making a stop at Pigs Paradise and the wonderful seabird colony there!
Oh and not to mention, a wee look at a super yacht too 😄
What a great charter! 💙
Seafood Galore ❤️
Seafood Galore ❤️
Reminiscing about this fantastic seafood spread from back in June!
Docked at Lagavulin Distillery, guests enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch paired with wonderful drams ☺️
Islay Oysters also made an appearance on the menu too! A fantastic addition to our seafood offering!
Islay Sea Adventures takes Staffa 💙
Islay Sea Adventures takes Staffa 💙
Our guests & crew had a fantastic time up at Staffa and Iona last Saturday!
There were lots of these delightful puffins on the island!
Some puffins were even bringing back sand eels meaning that there are puffin chicks (aka Pufflings - cutest name ever) are now hatching in the burrows 😊
Our boat Ileach was sailing in the background, waiting for guests after they enjoyed these charismatic seabirds and the stunning Fingal’s Cave 🤩
RECENT WILDLIFE SIGHTINGS 🤩
Wow, what a great selection of wildlife we’ve seen recently!
(Even in this not so summery weather)
⭐️ Seal Pup season is well underway, with more and more pups being seen daily!
⭐️ Red Deer are out on the islands, with stags showing off their velvet antlers!
⭐️ White-Tailed Eagle sightings are increasing as the season goes on!
⭐️ Lots of seabirds around such as Arctic Terns, Black Guillimot & Shags

We then headed to Staffa, enjoying views of the stunning Fingal’s Cave and the islands Puffin colony
Thank you to everyone who joined us! It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces 😊
Sun, sea and fishing
Sun, sea and fishing 🎣
We had a blast on Saturday for a Private Charter!
Fishing, seafood lunch and wildlife, finishing at Lagavulin Distillery!
The group caught some lovely pollock & mackerel, taking plenty back to their campsite for dinner 😁
We heard that the menu consisted of:
💙 Breaded pollock fillets and new potatoes
💙 Fried fillets with veg, white wine, cream & parsley soup
💙 Whole mackerel cooked on the fire
Mouthwatering or what! 🤩
Caol Ila Seafood ❤️
Reminiscing about this beautiful day 😍
What a stunning charter we had back in May!
The sun was shining, the views were amazing, the water was crystal clear and the seafood was spectacular as always
(if we do say so ourselves 😉)
What more could you want?!?
Plus we had the @caolila.distillery Fèis ìle 2024 release on board!
A lovely day with lovely guests ☺️
The Beautiful island of Gigha
The beautiful island of Gigha 💕
Gigha is always a stunning island to visit, but it is absolutely beautiful at this time of the year!
The sea pinks are flowering and the water is crystal clear!
Not a bad spot for our crew to wait whilst guests enjoy a meal at The Boathouse Restaurant Isle of Gigha 😁
Ardbeg Day 2024
Ardbeg Day 2024 🥃
We had the pleasure of hosting a press trip for @ardbeg on their Fèis Day!
It was a day of sunshine, fresh seafood galore, scuba diving surprises, and a very special bottle of whisky!! 😁
It was great to see the first launch of Ardbeg’s ‘The Abyss’!
A rare, 1989 whisky described as the ‘heart of Corryvreckan’
And it was this very special bottle that Gus was delighted to pull up from the depths of Islay’s Sea. 🤩
It was also fantastic to have the comic book artist Tradd Moore, who created the limited edition comic that goes alongside this release, on the boat too!
FÈIS ÌLE 2024
FÈIS ÌLE 2024
What a busy week! And what a week it was!
We met so many amazing people during the festival
Some who were here for the first Fèis and some that had been many times before!
During the week we served more local Islay seafood than ever before! And welcomed some special drams on board too!
Thank you to all our lovely guests who joined us, new and old! You made the week so special for us 😁
And a huge thank you to our first class, amazing team!
We could not have gotten through the week without each person going above & beyond!
⭐️ Rebecca & Robbie for their boat crewing. Not the easiest of weeks for new starters!
⭐️ Lori for all her hard work in the background, organising tours and keeping the whole business running
⭐️ Harold & Alex for their boat skippering, scallop cooking and all round entertaining
⭐️ Leo for his seafood cooking, canapé prepping and boat crewing
⭐️ Bertie for his boat skippering, guest entertaining and maintenance of our RIBs

Bring on Fèis 2025 🥳
Eagle in the sky
Eagle in the sky 😁
Today, guests were treated to some fantastic views of local adult white-tailed eagle!
This is one of the birds from the local breeding pair, so it is always great to see them doing well.
Any eagle eyed viewers 😉 may of spotted something in the birds talons
It appears to be a gosling (greylag most likely) or a gull chick, both of which breed to the neighbouring islands
Hopefully a meal for some hungry eagle chicks nearby🤞🏻
To top it off, we also seen a breeding pair of white-tailed eagles flying along the coast of Jura too!
It may be windy but it hasn’t stopped the wildlfie watching ☺️
A Seafood Spread 🦞
A mouthwatering seafood lunch for a lovely group today!
The group joined us this morning after their tour at Port Ellen Maltings
We stopped to see Port Ellen Distillery from the sea before heading up to Lagavulin for another tour
As the guests returned to the boat, their seafood meal was waiting for them!
A platter with Islay Lobster & Crab, fresh bread & salad, homemade dips and Islay hand-dived scallops sizzling on the barbecue ❤️
Afterwards we headed up to Caol Ila where the group carried on their whisky adventure!
Lagavulin day 2024
LAGAVULIN DAY 2024!
What an absolutely fantastic day our team had at Lagavulin’s Fèis Day!
Made even better by the beautiful sunshine that arrived ☀️
We had two boats out doing canapé & scallop bbq tours, paired with delicious whisky and local history 🦞🥃
We also had two boats out doing 45minute RIB tours, pulling up a creel with some special surprises inside 🥃🐙
Followed by the two RIBs doing some water taxis from Lagavulin to Port Ellen at the end of the day!
Busy busy day for the Islay Sea Adventures Team but well worth it 😁
Thank you to @lagavulinwhisky for having us!
And a huge thank you to our wonderful team for all of their hard work, not only on the day but also all the planning that went into it!
Made all the better by lots of happy customer faces 😊
Happy faces 😁
Got to love seeing a boat full of smiling passengers on their Seafood Tour!
The group had seen Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg along with Dunyvaig Castle Ruins and other historical sites
When we passed by them, they were on their way to the Special Area of Conservation where we see seals, deer, seabirds and even white-tailed eagles and bottlenose dolphins if we’re lucky!
Surrounded by wildlife and spectacular scenery, the boat stops in a sheltered bay and the seafood extravaganza begins!
Islay Lobster and Crab platters, fresh bread and salad, homemade dips and accompaniments!
And don’t forget about those hand-dived Islay scallops.
Try them raw and raw-whisky marinated as well as those freshly cooked on the BBQ on the boat ❤️
