We are back but what a day! We booked a late flight because we knew we had to get the ferry back to the mainland from the island. It was actually much easier than we’d anticipated (you live & learn) and so we actually had quite a lot of time on our hands.

The flight back was slightly delayed and you know when you just want to get home…….. yes that feeling!

Looking forward to getting organised today and a long bank holiday weekend!

When we are in Cornwall we always visit the Rose is amazing!

One thing we love to do when we are near the water is paddle board & despite living in the middle of the UK there is a lakeside complex not far from us where you can waterski & paddle board.

Down at the Port House you can hire paddle boards in Rock & Port Gaverne so no need to invest to enjoy!

This is just another option that you enjoy either down in the cove in Port Gaverne or in Port Isaac x

As the summer starts drawing to an end, have you thought about an autumn break?

Cornwall is stunning at any time of the year but I have to say I love autumn walks along the beach, followed by hot coffee in a cosy cafe watching the waves crash in.

Out of season also means you avoid the crowds making dinner reservations easier and you’ll always find a table at your favourite watering hole!

So who has seen the 2nd Fisherman’s Friends film? We are away at the minute but it’s on our ‘must do’ list before the kids go back to school.

I loved the first film and can’t wait to see this one!

Our favourite thing to do. We get the boat from Rock beach and have 2 hours trying to catch mackerel to take home for tea! Sometimes we catch, sometimes we don’t! That’s fishing!

Self catering holidays are all about having the choice to cook, get a

Lots of absolutely stunning beaches to explore within a stones throw of The Port House but also why not explore further afield? We love St Ives, Marazion & St Austell but definitely looking forward to visiting others when we are back in May.

We stoped off at the fabulous Gloucester Farm Shop Services on the way back from Cornwall. It sells the most gorgeous food, is always so clean and the staff are really friendly!

I don’t know about you but money doesn’t count at the services! Does it?

The village is busy at the moment with lots of film crew, actors, runners, make-up and the all important food van!

The weather has been glorious today as we travelled across the estuary from Rock to Padstow on the ferry.

A pasty, a coffee and fish with mushy peas later along with a wander around the shops and we headed back for a well earned beer in

Sometimes you just need to reset and that’s exactly what we’ve done this week. The first school term is always a chaotic one so it was amazing to be able to grab some much needed R&R in the Sharm sunshine before the chaos of the festive season starts!

Making Memories 💫

We have honestly had the best week away in Cornwall. Despite the crowds and the weather we had an action packed week, sea fishing, .ainsworth.travellingfeast kayaking & paddle boarding, body boarding in Polzeath with coffee from Plus shopping in Padstow not to mention eating & drinking &

We have some availability for November, so why not book yourself a lovely winter break just before Christmas and watch the waves crash against the rocks x

Amazing food by

The oysters are local from across the estuary and were incredible. We booked well in advance and it was well worth the wait. With interiors to die for, a great atmosphere and wonderful food, what’s not to love x
