An important opportunity to look at the history and heritage of the Siege, but also Drumcree Parish and the long established connection the local Orange Institution has with the Parish as we go right back to that very first Orange Church Service.
A lot has changed for the town in 25 years including changing demographics of the local area.
This Exhibition and other events surrounding it will provide a reflection and an educational opportunity for the younger generations to know the history behind one of the biggest events locally that put Portadown on the world map.

🟠 As part of the exhibition and one particular area of the history that is yet to be recorded on our archives is the important role that local women had during this time. If any local women have a story to tell and history to be recorded about Drumcree we would like to get that history recorded for future generations, so as time moves on their role is not forgotten. This is not a big interview it is just a couple of questions we will ask to explore women’s role. This can be done through written or verbal communication. Email [email protected]
Forgotten stories of Veterans of the Great War are available to access through Portadown Ex Servicemen LOL 608 App.
