If you’re visiting Blaenau Ffestiniog when you come to stay, then take a look at the floor in the central car park. The amazing floor includes slate samples from every single Welsh quarry and was created by sculptor Howard Bowcott.

The region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Slate Landscape and has global importance.

The is right on our doorstep and we are hoping to get our copy of the guide next time we visit. This 83-mile trail takes you on a journey back in time to when Snowdonia was the centre of the slate industry and is part of the site. You can do parts of the journey in stages. Maybe do a section each time you visit! We already have a few repeat guests so this is a great thing to do! 👍

Our recent posts have all been about availability so we thought it was about time we reminded you of all the lovely things you can do nearby.

Why not visit the nearby town of Criccieth. Only a 10-15 minute drive away or how about you walk there along the Wales coastal path and then get the train or bus back to Porthmadog.

As depicted by this amazing Post Box topper there is a hill top ruined castle, amazing beach and the award winning Dylan’s seafood restaurant.

UPDATE - we now only have the three nights of 18th to 21st available

New availability!

Due to an unexpected change in circumstances we now have a week available in June. This could be split into either two short breaks or taken as a whole week.

Thanks for all your lovely bookings.

We love it when the calendar is filling up, so do get in touch if you are thinking of booking as there’s not many slots left across the summer. We have:

☀️ one weekend left in June - 14th to the 17th
☀️ a few longer breaks in July and August
☀️ plenty in September (last year there was a 25 degree heat wave)
🍂 most of October including half term

Bookings are a minimum 3 night stay.

Today marks the 12th Anniversary of the launch of the Wales Coastal Path, which as the name suggests runs round the entire coast of Wales!

We are super lucky to be at the point where one section starts and another ends. In one direction you can head through Borth Y Gest towards the Llyn peninsular (Criccieth, Pwllheli and beyond) and the other direction takes you to Harlech down to Barmouth. Whichever way you walk, the scenery is stunning with mountains, castles and amazing beaches. You can also catch a train or bus back to the apartment if you only want to walk one way.

We’ve been so busy recently telling you about all of the fabulous things you can do near the apartment, that we thought it would be a good time to remind you what the place looks like!

1️⃣ The apartment is a two bedroom duplex apartment situated on the first and second floor, overlooking Porthmadog harbour
2️⃣ There are two bedrooms, which sleep four people ( ie one double and one twin)
3️⃣ There is an open plan kitchen, dining and living area and a large balcony
4️⃣ On the top floor is the shower room with a large walk in shower

Include in the apartment are all the usual mod cons you’d expect ie full central heating, smart TV, WI-FI, fully equipped kitchen etc
