Moonfleet is a classic gaff rigged sailing vessel, built in the 1930’s in Holland, today she is used as a training vessel based in Portland in Dorset, we have affordable day trips out to different locations for all the family to enjoy.
Our aim is to provide a range of Tall Ship Experiences, suitable for the whole family, whether you wish to learn the ropes, hoist the sails or take the helm, the choice is yours, you can even just sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Jurassic Coastline a Unesco World Heritage Site.
The only way to see some of our breathtaking coastline views are by sea and what better way to see them than on board the Moonfleet, a truly stunning vessel that is absolutely beautiful to sail on.

Prices Per Person;
All trips depart from and return to Portland Marina - 6 Hamm Beach Road, Portland DT5 1DX, with Free Car Parking to the right hand side of the Marina, sailing times are estimated and may vary slightly due to weather and or sea conditions.
Tea and Coffee are provided on all sailing trips, we even crack open the biscuit barrel for anyone wanting a sweet treat.
We stop for a picnic break on all sails 3 hours or more, the sea air really does make you hungry and with hoisting those sails can work up an appetite.
There are plenty of shops and supermarkets in Weymouth and Portland where you can purchase a packed lunch from or buy a meal deal.
however we can provide a packed lunch from outside caterers prices are on our website and you need to book 48 hours in advance. Crab Apple Catering if you click the name is their link and you will be directed to their website.

Sunset Sail - 1 hour -£20.00 pp. This is our lowest priced sail and can only be booked through the booking line as we have to ensure that we have sufficient numbers before sailing 01929 289019.
You get to see the whole of Portland Harbour and Portland Sea Forts. This is the only sail that covers the whole of the Sea Forts.
You don’t get a lot of sailing time on this trip as it is only an hour and goes very quickly, but you all get a turn at the helm and hoisting the sails if you would like to.
Unfortunately there is not enough time to drop anchor, but you get as much crammed in the short sail as possible.
This sail is very romantic in the summer months especially when the sun sets, great for all those romantic souls, so why not bring a bottle of something?
This is a very calm sail for anybody who is uncertain on the sea - an ideal ‘toe in the water’ sail for you.
Weymouth Bay Sail - 2 hour sail - £36.00.
Weymouth Bay Sail - 2 hour sail - £36.00 pp. You get to see Weymouth Bay, Nothe Fort, Portland Harbour and Portland Sea Forts. You get up close to all these sea forts and learn a bit of the history of the harbour and surrounding area.
You get to sail out into Weymouth Bay before you head back.
Unfortunately there is not enough time to drop anchor, but you get as much crammed in the short sail as possible, the time flies on this sail as there is so much to do and learn about you will be surprised at how quickly the time goes by.

Osmington Mills - 3 Hour Sail - £50 pp. This is a new sail for 2019 and we expect this to be an extremely popular sail with holiday makers and locals alike, you get to see the whole of Weymouth Coastline on this trip and parts of Portland too, you will not believe on how much we get to see on this trip!
You get to see the more popular destination on this sail like Weymouth Bay, Bowleaze Cove, Osmington Mills, Ringstead Ledge and Ringstead Bay. We anchor near this wonderful stretch of The Jurassic Coastline for a packed lunch, snorkel or swim if you like and you get to see Nothe Fort, Portland Harbour and Portland Sea Forts too.
You also get to learn a little bit of history along the way, including learning how to sail a Tall Ship.
The Moofleet is absolutely beautiful, you can learn the ropes hoist the sails or take the helm, you can even just sit back and watch the world go by, our coastline is breathtaking and you get some amazing views with this sail so don’t forget to bring your camera.

Durdle Door - 4 hour sail - £65.00.
Durdle Door - 4 Hour Sail - £65 pp. This is our most photographed destination that we go to and we sail here daily as it is a very popular sail, we sail passed Portland Sea Forts across Weymouth Bay to Durdle Door you even get a glimpse of Man O’ War Bay.
Being a popular sail might have something to do with the steep incline and the amount of stairs you have to climb up and down to get to Durdle Door on foot.
We get pretty close to the door, sometimes when the tide is on our side we can almost touch the arch! Sail along to this stunning rock formation and drop anchor for a picnic, this is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
We stop here for Lunch so bring a picnic as hoisting those sails makes you work up an appetite, you can even snorkel or swim if you like.
Lulworth Cove - 5 hour sail - £75.00.
Lulworth Cove - 5 Hours - £75 pp. Sail across Weymouth Bay and passed Durdle Door to this famous and picturesque cove! Drop anchor for a swim and a picnic.
This is one of our most popular sails, as we anchor here for lunch and have time to take in the beautiful sights of this pretty little cove and its history. Some of our customers even jump in and swim or snorkel in the cove. Yes, you can ‘walk the plank’! We even breeze past Durdle Door on the way home.

This is a extremely informative sail as you get to see the popular destinations like Lulworth Cove, Stair Hole, Man O’ War Bay, Durdle Door, Bats Head, then we sail across the bay back home to Portland Sea Forts, Portland Harbour and Portland Marina, there is so much more you get to see on this trip, book early on peak times to avoid disappointment.

This is our longest scheduled sail unless you charter the Moonfleet for your sole use.
The amount you get to see on this trip is absolutely unbelievable, not only do you get to see all the well know destinations again with this sail you also get to learn about the less well known areas too, along with having the most amount of time on learning how to sail the Moonfleet.
you get to see on the way back home Mupe Bay, Lulworth Cove, Stair Hole, Man O’ War Bay, Durdle Door, Bat’s head, then sail across Weymouth Bay to Portland Sea Forts, Portland Harbour then home to Portland Marina, you will sleep well after this trip!
This is A…maz…ing value for money and you will not believe on how much you can see and do on this trip, you get to learn the ropes, hoist the sails and take the helm of the Moonfleet if you wish, she is truly stunning, sailing on board her is breathtaking, the memories that are made on board will last a lifetime.

We will accept bookings for less than six and try to fill the remaining places but if we are unable to make up the numbers we will revert to two hour trips on the day, try to fill these trips and refund the difference.
