Affectionately named after Tompot Blennies, which are endearing small fish found in Chesil Cove, Tompot Cottage is a charming, cosy, Grade II listed, Portland stone holiday home in Chiswell, at the northern end of the Isle of Portland. It dates from around 1650 and has a wealth of character features whilst providing comfortable accommodation for six persons. Ideally located for water sports, the c

ottage is just across the road from Chesil Cove and it is a level walk to Portland Harbour and the WPNSA (National Sailing Academy). There is a suntrap front garden and a small, fully enclosed rear courtyard, accessed through the cottage. On the ground floor is the living and dining area, with LCD TV/DVD and a well equipped kitchen to the rear. On the first floor is a master bedroom with king size bed and a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle and on the top floor is another twin bedroom and one double bedroom. All rooms have fully controllable, electric heating included in the price. Domestic hot water is supplied by a timed, immersion heater whilst the shower has its own on demand supply at all times. Parking is on-street outside the cottage and in the surrounding area. There is also a small free car park opposite the cottage and 'Pay and Display' car parks within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Please note that smoking is not allowed in the cottage. Tompot Cottage is a centuries old, traditional Portland stone building with steep stairs. The layout of the property maybe unsuitable for people with limited mobility. Short breaks are available. Weymouth & Portland is an excellent base for exploring South Dorset’s coast and countryside, being located in the heart of the Jurassic Coast. Historic Portland offers scenic coastal walks, hidden coves and stunning views, whilst the nearby town of Weymouth offers a lively nightlife, high street shops and a sweeping sandy beach and varied and exciting calendar of events throughout the year. Weymouth Train station is about 5 miles away and from there the cottage can be reached by taxi or bus. There are frequent buses between Weymouth and Portland.

Ideally located for water sports, the cottage is just across the road from Chesil Cove and it is a level walk to Portland Harbour and the WPNSA (National Sailing Academy). There is a suntrap front garden. On the ground floor is the living and dining area, with LCD TV/DVD and a well equipped kitchen to the rear. On the first floor is a King bedroom and a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle and on the top floor is a double bedroom and a bedroom which sleeps 3 in bunk beds and a single. Fully controllable, electric heating is included in the price and there is a living flame gas fire in the lounge. Domestic hot water is supplied by a timed, immersion heater whilst the shower has its own on demand supply at all times. Bed linen is included in the price. Parking is on-street outside the cottage and in the surrounding area. There is also a small free car park opposite the cottage and 'Pay and Display' car parks within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Please note that smoking is not allowed in the cottage. Tompot Cottage was built 350 years ago and is a traditional Portland stone building with steep stairs. The layout of the property means it maybe unsuitable for toddlers. Young children should be supervised on the stairs. Unfortunately it is not really suitable for those with limited mobility.
