You can see the firework displays across the county at Poole, Bournemouth, Swanage, Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Wareham, Christchurch and Bridport.

On Wednesday 17th April at 3pm at the Peter Trim Hall, St. George’s Centre, Reforne, Porland Museum is hosting ‘Some Portland Plants: How Herbalists use them’ by Andrew Cowling.

Andrew Cowling studied herbal medicine at the School of Phytotherapy/Herbal Medicine from 1990 to 1994, when he graduated as a herbalist.

He then began practising in London and has worked on Portland since moving here in 1997.

He has researched and written ‘A Portland Herbal’ which describes the many herbs growing on Portland used by modern herbalists as well as herbs which for various reasons have fallen into disuse.

Tickets to our talks are £5.00 or £3.50 for Friends of Portland Museum.

High tide at the Bill is always a spectacle, watching the waves crash and tumble over the ledges makes you truly appreciate the power of nature. The rain stopped for a moment to allow me to take this snap without rain on the lens thankfully, though I might have missed a few drops!

Some of us went down to the Inquiry site at Osprey this morning to help clean it up a little before the Inquiry. Don't forget to come along Tuesday 5th Dec from 9.30am for a peaceful gathering outside with the banners, and also to go inside from 10am to register to speak on 14th December if you wish to. Thanks
