This was this morning sunrise, looking down from the retreat. No filter, no fancy camera, just the old IPhone. Wild. Featuring out lovely crofter friend and housekeeper Michelle’s gorgeous wee croft house, who’s little skylight reminds us everyday we are not alone and we have at least one neighbour nearby all the time. It’s been a stunningly beautiful but also slightly challenging week this week. Living on Skye life is often heavily dictated by the weather, and this week snow and particularly ice have transformed the island into a to a Winter wonderland. This comes with travel complications and some logistics to consider but all in all we are very happy to share this place with our lovely, adventurous guests at this time of year. Nice, unexpected but very welcome feature from Daily Record 🦊

At the moment, a unique luxury cabin on the Isle of Skye that has been described by guests as "absolutely beautiful" can be booked for a January or February staycation.

We have been enjoying lots of festivities on Skye alongside looking after our lovely guests, and the weather this past week has been WILD! Here’s hoping it settles down for our guests staying over Christmas. We are heading off soon to spend some time with family, but Michelle will be holding the fort and looking after our lovely guests perfectly! What a week! We have had some simply lovely local guests, some beautiful if a little cold and challenging weather, some team work with our neighbours to help those in our small community, a visit from a good old pal, a photoshoot, LOTS of fairy lights and christmas trees and some wintery bugs- the full shebang! Late Autumn and Winter often bring the sunrises that look like the sky is on fire. From up here at our high vantage point we get a pretty spectacular view, and so do our guests!
