We knew they'd be good, but WOW they are sensational!

Check out these stunning photos taken by James onboard Friday's bird watching tour of Lough Foyle and the River Bann estuary mud flats. if you zoom in the detail of the birds is epic.

Never had a day like that last summer!

Final day of what seemed a very long January took us bird watching. our chosen route was down the Bann estuary ,over past Magilligan and the Tun's bank into the eastern Foyle mudflats at Ballykelly then Greencastle harbour.

Great bunch of people and looking forward to seeing the photos they produced

The next 24 hours shipping forecast is now for violent storm force Force 11 winds, then to peak at Hurricane force 12 winds.

Extremely serious forecast, RNLI's advice is to stay away from Coasts, Harbours and Rivers.

Coleraine Coastguard advice - DO NOT travel to “view the big waves” and take pictures and selfies.

Fancy a new challenge in 2025?

Our friends at Coleraine Coastguard are recruiting volunteers

No experience is necessary as full training will be given (though coastal and / or outdoor experience is desirable). You need to hold a full UK drivers’ licence and be in good health.

Applicants must also live / work within 15 minutes of the Coastguard station and have good availability to attend callouts and monthly team training.

Want to find out more? Come to the Open Night at 1930 on Thurs 16th January at the Coastguard Station, Gateside Business Park, Gateside Rd, Coleraine.

Both boats are purpose-built with passengers in mind, non slip flooring, medical stores, life-jackets for everyone onboard and stainless steel safety handrails.
