Bulgaria's Rila Mountains in winter!
Who wouldn't enjoy a winter week in Bulgaria exploring the Rila Mountains, a largely untouched world of alpine summits, snowy ridges, deep forests, glacial lakes and panoramic views. The trip is perfect for small groups looking for a challenging alpine walking holiday in an unusual part of Europe, ending with a climb on Bulgaria's highest peak, Mount Musala (2925 m).

After our Moving Mountains Trust school project on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, and a challenging climb of Mount Meru, it was time for the Lomond School team to see some of the wild side of Tanzania! We had a great safari spotting Cheetah, Lion, Elephant, Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra, Eland amongst a stunning array of colourful birdlife in Tarangire National Park.
