Restoration
Not only is the cottage a place of restoration for the soul but it is also a heritage home that we continuously restore and reinvest into. So know that a generous portion of your holiday rental fee goes back into restoring this priceless historical gem for future generations! This week we had the upstairs windows replaced with handmade wooden frames that will last another few generations. Check out our stories!

Bursting in Bloom
Celebrating the beauty and colour of the countryside during it is an absolutely perfect time to visit the cotswolds! And we still have a few dates in July & August. So book them while you can!

Our cottage garden bursts into flower during the summer months and it’s an absolute paradise. We will be busy pruning and preening ready for our upcoming photo shoot and you can be sure that I will be sharing behind the scenes footage and the final product on here soon!

Bursting in Bloom
The cottage and gardens are bursting with flowers in celebration of summer! Our cottage garden pops with colour, birds and bees as the sun warms it into a joyful riot. Its the perfect time to come and taste the very best the Cotswolds has to offer; magical villages, glorious countryside, sumptuous historic houses and gardens, afternoon tea, gastro pubs galore!
We have teamed up with and are delighted to be open for summer bookings. Catch our last couple of weekend dates in June or for picture perfect summer holidays in July & August…

Wonders of Willow
The final reveal! Another willow masterpiece if we may say so ourselves. It has taken a week to complete so we are feeling rather pleased with the new addition to the sun spot. Willow is just perfect in a Cotswold garden, the texture blends beautifully with the dry stone wall. I like to think the cotswolds are the closest you can get to Provence in the UK! I am just going to lie here and look at that beautiful summer sky, listen to the birds and the floral scents. Bliss! Its going to be hard to move…

Warmer Days are Coming
Spring is definitely here. The garden is brimming with new life, I’ll be posting a reel later to show you all our new blooms! But mostly what we love about the warmer months is the tone of the light. Honey rays soften the naturally curvaceous walls creating a wonderfully biophiliic cocoon. Living that is really connected to nature and natural form.

Secluded Spot
One thing we love about the cottage is how peaceful the garden is. The sounds of birds and bees humming, the smell of the flowers and herbs. Next week we start work on our willow sun shade. We love the beauty and texture of willow and plan to grow jasmine over it to create a peaceful scented sanctuary. We will be sure to share our progress with you here, will you be doing any creative projects over Easter too?

Blossoming
So we have been a little quiet lately as we have been busy beavering away in the summerhouse! We are super excited to share our progress with you very soon. Its been 3 months of hard work and Adrian continues to amaze us both with his latest DIY skills. Although we’ve decided this is the last project. Well for now ;)
In the meantime the garden is starting to blossom…how gorgeous is this little display of winter and Spring flowers from the garden. What is blossoming in your garden at this time of year?

Dreaming of Snow
Poulton is a gorgeous village full of quintessential cotswold cottages but in the snow it is just magical! When it snowed last January we crept out early to discover deep powdery untouched snow creating sculptures on the hedges and rooftops. Are you hoping for snow too?

Cotswold Stone
The beauty of this stone is that it just speaks for itself, the gorgeous honey hues that create the dreamy village scapes that make the Cotswolds so memorable. So in our little cotswold cottage escape we have worked with these natural materials, letting the history of the architecture tell the story of this magical place. Soft undulating curved walls and morning light make this a perfect bathroom sanctuary. Do you love stone natural bathrooms as much as we do?

Willow
We have had something of a love affair with willow since we arrived at Pear Tree. Its such a sculptural material and surprisingly easy to work with. Or so Adrian tells me ;) At any rate it’s endlessly pleasing on the eye and we have plans to introduce more into the garden this summer. Are you inspired to use this in your garden yet?
