Passengers should continue to follow current requirements for the carriage of laptops and liquids and remove these from cabin baggage at security.

Liquids must be in containers of 100ml or less and placed in a clear, resealable bag.

To improve security, more bags will be selected for additional screening, which may result in slightly slower queues.

🚗 Improving your journey

As part of our ongoing improvements, essential car park upgrade works will take place from Monday, 17th until Friday, 28th February 2025. These works will involve the removal of existing equipment and the installation of new systems across car parks. These works have been scheduled to minimise disruption, and access arrangements will be managed carefully to ensure smooth operations.

🚛✈️ Breaking Records at Glasgow Prestwick Airport!
We’re delighted to share that Glasgow Prestwick Airport (P*K) has successfully handled its longest-ever piece of cargo - a 67-foot, 24-tonne freight component for the oil and gas sector.
📦 Arriving from Kuala Lumpur, the consignment required precision, coordination, and cutting-edge equipment. The operation required three high-loaders and two crane and our expert ground handling team offloaded it and two smaller components in just 30 minutes!
💡 “Handling such a large piece of freight requires immense coordination and expertise, two of our key assets,” said Jules Matteoni, Operations Director.
🏗️ This milestone showcases our commitment to handling outsized cargo efficiently—especially for key industries like oil & gas. As Nico Le Roux, Business Development Director, puts it: “The success of this operation is a direct result of our investment in infrastructure.”
With continued investment in heavy-duty equipment, security, and cold storage, we’re reinforcing P*K’s position as a top choice for specialized cargo operations.

✈️ A Historic First at Prestwick Airport! ✈️

We were thrilled to welcome Hong Kong Air Cargo’s inaugural flight to Glasgow Prestwick Airport earlier this week! 🎉
This marks the first of three development flights and their first new scheduled destination of 2025—a huge milestone for us.
Even more exciting, this marks the first ever Hong Kong airline to operate at Prestwick, strengthening our global connections and creating new opportunities between Scotland, the UK, and Asia.
The flight brought e-commerce goods into Scotland, and this new service will help Scottish and UK exporters send produce to Hong Kong and mainland China more efficiently.
Despite the cold Scottish winds, local piper Taylor Elliott gave the crew a warm welcome as they landed just after 1am on Monday, and they were presented with a hamper of traditional Scottish goodies to celebrate the occasion.
A huge thank you to Hong Kong Air Cargo for picking P*K—we’re excited to grow this partnership in the months ahead! 🌍✈️
