It's one of the traditions of Britain that stands the test of time - Clay Pigeon Shooting.
Soon to be seen in the Olympic Games, the idea of Clay Pigeon Shooting originated in the late 1800s, when pheasants and other game birds were swapped for glass balls filled with feathers, allowing more Britons to participate in the esteemed sport.
The clay target appeared at the beginning of the 20th century, forming the Clay Pigeon Shooting we know now.
Now, enthusiasts from around the world flock to Scotland for its passionate shooting culture and exceptional ranges located amongst the dramatic Highland scenery.
Have you ever tried Clay Pigeon Shooting?
Do you love Harry Potter as much as we do? Well, here's everything you need to know about seeing the sites of Edinburgh that inspired the stories.
As well as the many highland filming sites that can be found in Scotland’s countryside, arguably the location that had the greatest impact on the creation of the books and subsequent movies is the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh.
It was here that JK Rowling was first inspired to write the books. Or, more specifically, in The Elephant House cafe, which you can still visit today, where JK did some of her writing for the first few novels.
After stopping for a drink and a snack at the cafe, head over to Greyfriars Kirkyard, the location where JK Rowling conducted research for some of her character’s names.
See if you can spot Sirius Black, Robert Potter, William McGonagall and even he who must not be named himself, Thomas Riddell.
You could even head to Balmoral Hotel, the site where JK Rowling wrote the famed final chapters of The Deathly Hallows.
If you’re looking for more sites of interest in the life of JK Rowling and the films, we’d recommend signing up for a Harry Potter walking tour around the city.
