OH WHAT A MORNING!
Delighted customers this morning as we watched Otters and Kingfisher whilst on the Thames stretch of our Goring Scenic Circuit… and to watch the Dad Otter then decide to try and take on a Fox as it drank at the River’s edge!

Whilst it might be the same path trodden, every walk experience with GG Wildlife Experiences is different. By season, by time of day, by day of the week.

Love Nature 💚💚💚

BOAT TRIP - WILDLIFE ON THE WATER 🚤
After a brilliant experience in May, we are delighted to be running our next experience on 1st July. It’s an early start, meaning you get the most sightings of the wildlife as they wake for breakfast and morning song.

The Kingfishers will have their young fledged so we would get to see them fishing and diving.

We oftentimes see the Otter, sometimes the Otter family, as it’s an early start and they are finishing up their evening.

The morning birdsong is beautiful.

Why not do something different with your morning?

Makes a great gift for Fathers Day, or a Birthday treat! 🎁 💚

We are also running one on 9th September if preferring to see the Autumn colours 🍂

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ridgeway officially becoming a national path. But like many roads in GB it has a much older story to tell...

Used for over 5,000 years, the Ridgeway stretches 85 miles (137km), from Overton Hill near Avebury in Wiltshire, to Ivinghoe Beacon near Tring in Buckinghamshire.

During the Saxon and Viking eras, the Ridgeway was useful to provide a track along which to move soldiers into Wessex. In the medieval period, the route would have been used by drovers, moving animals to market.

The Enclosure Acts of 1750 meant that the Ridgeway became more permanent, with a clearer route. It later became a National Trail, along with 14 others in England and Wales, in 1973.

The term ‘Ridgeway’ originated in Anglo-Saxon times, to refer to ancient tracks that run along the high ridges of hills. Typically, Ridgeways are unpaved, utilising hard ground to provide a suitable surface for travelling on.
