We went to Budapest for the Christmas Markets and this was genuinely one of the best decisions we’ve made this year😊🇭🇺‼️
We went the first weekend of Decemeber and we were completely shocked, we expected the markets to be rammed like you see all over socials but we could move freely and it was a very pleasant experience🥰
Not only were all the market stools unique handmade crafts, they here was some amazingly delicious food choices🌭, a range of festive alcohol🍷, some of the best hot chocolate 🍫 I’ve ever tasted, traditional Hungarian chimney cakes and the markets themselves were huge!! ‼️
We found ourselves coming to the end of the market and we thought it was great then you’d walk down a street or two and stumble across a whole other market 🙀 These stools spanned majority of the “Pest” side of Budapest and not to mention the head-turning display of Christmas lights down “fashion street” too🎄 Not to mention the choice of 3 different outdoor ice rinks⛸️🧊, again completely shocked by the sheer size of the ice which was perfect as even during peak times you had plenty of space to keep your distance from everyone😊⛸️ Taking a wander over the river to Fisherman’s Bastion, we were pleasantly suprised to stumble upon yet another cluster of market stools and with some of the best street food we’ve had😋
We will 100% be returning to Budapest as we both fell in love with the city, but as for the Christmas markets- BY FAR the best we’ve ever been to and out the Big UK markets to shame😳🇭🇺
