The Soft Goods Emporium (SGE) is a brand new service offered by lighting designers Cate Carter of Bryte Design Studios, who is currently working with Ellie Goulding and Elbow amongst others, and Martin Dudley, who is also the director of lighting hire company Martin’s Lights Ltd. Having both been working in the live music industry for many years, and been working together since 2012, Cate and Mart

in saw an opportunity and a need to gather together in one place drapes, backdrops, other soft goods and items of stage set, that have been custom-made for bands and artists and were sitting unused in storage all over the country, and make them available to hire to other artists for their own tours and shows at a realistic and affordable cost. All the soft goods and set pieces offered for hire by the SGE are non-artist specific, ie they have no logos or artwork, and could be used by any artist. The SGE stock is warehoused in Reading from where items can be collected or, of course, they can be delivered or couriered if necessary.
