…we are doggy friendly here at Little Nook. One of our guests has brought her two labs Poppy and Daisy along with her and today they have met the two labs we are dog-sitting for, Scout and Jem, so it’s been lab central!…
There are lots of dog walks on the doorstep in Grinton and all the pubs and cafes in the area are pooch friendly.

…the 13 mile Swale Trail runs through our little village and is loved by mountain bikers and walkers alike.. first of all take a stroll through the churchyard of St Andrews in Grinton and the trail is around 10 minutes away.
Cross the Swale at the swing bridge ( and perhaps let your pooches have a dip when the river is low) to complete a circular that brings you down into the pretty village of Reeth where there are plenty of opportunity to enjoy food & drink at one of the pubs or cafes.
Bikes can be hired from the nearby Dales Bike Centre which also has a cafe serving all day breakfast, homemade soups, cakes, paninis and sandwhiches.

We don’t have a lot of spare availability for May and early June but as the better weather is now upon us why don’t you come up to Grinton near Reeth to witness yourself the beauty that Swaledale has to offer.
Little Nook is doggy friendly and there is also space for a travel cot if you want to bring along your bambino.

..beautiful day here in Grinton. Just waiting in the back garden to see if our little feathered friends are drawn to the new bird feeders. So far today we’ve had various finches, wrens , blue t**s, the resident woodpecker and huggins of sparrows

..did you know our accommodation in Grinton is on a bus route for the Little White Bus service and each journey is only £2! If you don’t fancy driving one day why not hop on the bus which takes you from directly outside Little Nook. You can travel to the lovely villages of Reeth, Gunnerside, Muker & Keld as well as into the market town of Richmond. If you fancy doing the river walk & Richmond circular, enjoying a pub lunch and few afternoon drinks the last bus back to Grinton is just before 6pm. Plenty of time to enjoy all that Richmond has to offer with its Wednesday and a Saturday markets, museum and not forgetting Richmond castle.
