We call ourselves Brick Wall Hearing Solutions for two reasons:
"Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall" is an accusation often made to people with poor hearing. Our mission is to make easy-to-use, reliable hearing aids available at the lowest possible cost. We are a UK company – our aids may be manufactured in China, but they meet all EU regulations and are checked by us before being mad
e available for purchase. Government statistics indicate that 10 million people (approx. 1 in 6 of the whole population) in the UK are affected by hearing loss. 6.5 million of these are aged 60 and over. 3.7 million are of working age. Around 2 million people use hearing aids*. So, there are millions of people who could benefit from hearing aids but instead do not hear what people say, misunderstand, force people to repeat themselves, or annoy their partners, members of the family and neighbours by the high volume of their TVs or radios. At work it is vital for most people to be able to hear clearly and accurately. There is also evidence that people who cannot hear properly can become affected with mental health issues because they are somewhat cut off from other people**. Traditionally, in the UK, hearing aids can either be obtained through:
The NHS - your GP can refer you to an audiologist for a hearing test and you will be supplied with behind-the-ear hearing aids for one or both ears, and the batteries, all at no charge. If you prefer in-the-ear hearing aids you will have to pay privately. Privately - through the ‘highstreet’ ( Boots, Specsavers, etc) or ‘home visit’ providers (AgeUK, Hidden Hearing, etc). An audiologist will conduct a hearing test and recommend a suitable hearing aid. The cost will be anything from £600 to £3000. Many people cannot afford the private cost. The aids we offer are low-cost, easy to use and will suit the typical age-related hearing loss sufferers. At the prices we charge, financial barriers are eliminated – and you have the security of one-month no quibble return if you decide your purchase is a mistake; and one year free replacement warranty if your aid develops a fault not caused by misuse.
