📢 Deadline Closed for MAGS 2025 Submissions! 📢

The deadline for abstract and bursary submissions for the MAGS 2025 Symposium in Ioannina has now officially passed. We will no longer be accepting further submissions.

We’re thrilled by the huge response we received this year! A massive thank you to all the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment—your contributions will help make this event an exceptional one.

Our team will now begin the process of reviewing submissions, and we look forward to sharing exciting updates soon on the symposium schedule, keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, excursions and other conference activities.

📢 Maritime Archaeology Graduate Symposium 2025 Announcement! 📢

We are thrilled to share details about the upcoming Maritime Archaeology Graduate Symposium (MAGS) 2025, proudly supported by the Honor Frost Foundation and hosted by the University of Ioannina in Greece! 🎉

📍 Venue: Ioannina University Campus and the International Centre of Hellenic Culture Vocational Training (ICHCVT) “Stavros Niarchos” Amphitheatre

📅 Dates: April 2-5, 2025

MAGS invites researchers and postgraduate students whose work focuses on various aspects of maritime archaeology in the Eastern Mediterranean. This is an excellent opportunity to present your research, engage in insightful discussions, and network with peers and experts in the field (for more information visit https://hff-mags.org).

HFF is looking for a research group to host MAGS 2025, our post-graduate student symposium dedicated to maritime archaeology in the eastern Mediterranean! These two days have been full of interesting presentations and fruitful discussions.

The symposium would not have been possible without the generous support of the Honor Frost Foundation and the guidance of the MAGS Steering Committee.

We would like to thank all the presenters and attendees, who made this day memorable.
We thank Dr Maria Parani, Dr Stella Demesticha and Dr Danielle Newman for the welcoming speeches and our keynote speaker Dr Anna Demetriou.
We are grateful to Dr Athena Trakardas for her insightful talk on: The maritime archaeological publication process.

Despite the difficulties that occured, we are still going strong! 🌊

Unfortunately, the University of Cyprus is facing a serious and difficult attack by hackers since yesterday. For this reason, MAGS 2023 will not be streamed today either.
We apologize for this unforeseen incident.
We will try to give you a taste of the symposium through social media.
