Night Flying Reminder

Just a brief note to remind you that as per our post of 19 August, the second of our exercise related night flying serials will take place between midnight and the early hours, between 7-10 September, when our exercise actually finishes.

We thank you for your forbearance here and we also much appreciate all your messages of support. We try to keep night flying to a minimum, as we know it disturbs people's rest but put starkly: our potential adversaries train and fight at night so our pilots have to do likewise - so they are prepared for any eventuality. As our longstanding neighbours know, it is rare when we do this into the early hours but just occasionally we play host to an exercise of this nature.

Have you visited Criccieth yet? ☀️ it’s a lovely village, not far from Porthmadog, about 30-40 mins from the cottage along the new bypass.

It has cute shops, a castle with v v steep drops but stunning views! It’s £6.50 to enter the castle and grounds and a lovely beach ☀️😊

Which is your favourite beach on Anglesey and why? 💙☀️🌊

My fav is Traeth Llydan 💙 it’s a 20-25 min walk from the cottage, via Llanfaelog lake, it’s usually v v quiet (I do like to have the beach all to myself! 🫣) and my fur babies can run free! Its stunning and when the tide is out you can walk past the rocks over to the beach near Aberfraw which stretches for miles ☀️💙

Its also close to the Oyster Catcher for eats and drinks 🍷😉

NIGHT FLYING TRAINING

A quick 'heads-up' to all our neighbours - as well as those holidaying in the vicinity of RAF Valley, that we will be conducting some helicopter night flying training commencing this evening with a visiting Chinook helicopter.

The aircraft will depart Valley early evening and will recover back to Valley no later than 0130. We appreciate that the Chinook is relatively noisy as helicopters go and we very much hope it does not disturb your rest too much.
