As it's Wales Ambassador Week, we thought you'd like to know more about the Wales Coast Path and the three fantastic National Trails in Wales: A great way to learn is by taking the Denbighshire Tourism Ambassadors course - it's free, and now contains a module al about these wonderful walking routes.

In addition to learning about the trails, you'll also find lots of interesting modules:
Welcome to Denbighshire,
Denbighshire Towns and the City,
Walking in Denbighshire,
Cycling in Denbighshire,
History & Heritage in Denbighshire,
Welsh Language and Culture,
Arts in Denbighshire,
Food Tourism,
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site,
Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape,
Coastal Denbighshire,
Sustainable Tourism in Denbighshire,
and The Vale of Clwyd.

Then, once you've completed the Denbighshire course, look for the ones covering our neighbours in North East Wales: Flintshire and Wrexham.

And if that wasn't enough, you can even learn about Conwy, Gwynedd, Eryri National Park, Anglesey, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, and Blaenau Gwent in their own Ambassador programmes and take the Wales Cultural Ambassador course too.

Best of all, these courses are all free. https://www.ambassador.wales/

DLL Announces Cast Change for This Year’s Pantomime at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre
DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) is thrilled to welcome comedian and talented actor John Thomson to the Panto this Christmas.

John Thomson, best known for his role in the beloved series Cold Feet, The Fast Show, Men Behaving Badly, 24 Hour Party People, The Brothers Grimsby and Coronation Street, is excited to step into the role of the Baron.

DLL has announced that Beverley Callard will no longer be able to perform the role of the Wicked Stepmother in this year’s Christmas pantomime at the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre due to an injury.

Beverley said: “I have an unexpected shoulder injury and have to have surgery which means I’m sadly not going to be able to perform in this year’s panto which I’m devastated about. It’s a great fun cast, and I was so looking forward to working with them all. It will be a great show.”

Rehearsals for the pantomime begin this Friday, in preparation for the opening night on December 7th , and runs until December 31st.

Jamie Groves, Managing Director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, said: “Everyone at DLL is sad to hear this news and would like to wish Beverley a speedy recovery. Beverley Callard is a fantastic talent, her presence will be greatly missed, and we wish her all the best. In the meantime, we are thrilled to welcome comedian and talented actor John Thomson to the theatre, and we look forward to a wonderful panto season.”

Tickets for this festive treat are available now! Grab your tickets via the Rhyl Pavilion website or by calling the box office at 01745 330000.

19/11/2024

The switch-on of Rhyl’s Christmas Lights will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, with a fun-filled family event on the High Street which starts at 2.00pm.

Organised by Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL), a programme of events has been arranged to celebrate the day and start the build-up to the town’s festive celebrations.

There will also be festive and fun songs and games courtesy of DJ, Paul Crawford. Themed stilt walkers, a face painter, a balloon modeller, Rhyl Youth Marching Band, and the Mind Ukulele and Singers Group will join in the fun.

Turning on the lights will be cast members of Rhyl’s Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, and Rhyl Town Mayor Councillor Cheryl Williams.

Jamie Groves, managing director of DLL, said: “We're thrilled to partner with Rhyl Town Council to offer a weekend of free entertainment for families in Rhyl!
"We believe that bringing our community together is especially important during the holiday season.
"Join us in celebrating the festive season with the Christmas Light Switch-On, on Saturday, followed by some entertainment at the theatre with the Christmas Pops Concert on Sunday—a perfect way to kick off the Christmas spirit with your family and friends!”

Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Cheryl Williams, added: “Tis the season to launch the Christmas Lights display in Rhyl, so come along to see Rhyl Town Centre’s glittering illuminations, a vibrant and shimmering spectacle.
"An afternoon to celebrate the countdown to Christmas and the opportunity to enjoy free high street activities and music with a host of entertainers and stars from this year’s pantomime.”
