Regeneration proposal – Catterick Garrison Town Centre
Richmondshire District Council, North Yorkshire County Council and the Ministry of Defence (MOD) are currently developing a proposal for the regeneration of Catterick Garrison town centre. Current thinking identifies opportunities to develop empty land on Shute Road and the neighbouring park area which will drive further investment into the local area. The Richmondshire Local Plan identifies Shute Road for redevelopment to provide extra retail and business development, as well as providing community facilities, general communal space, improved pedestrian access between each area and improve the neighbouring park area.

A jointly funded town centre study carried out by the Local Enterprise Partnership, Richmondshire District Council and the MOD has highlighted the following priorities as a basis for the town centre:

• improving the physical environment of the town centre by introducing a town community square
• landscaping improvements
• improving access through an eco-friendly infrastructure which would include new and upgraded pedestrian and cycle links

The proposed development would open up access to Shute Road, create a new civic square and community building which leads into improved park and wooded green spaces.

The new community building aims to provide food and drink establishments with additional space for community use and rented office space.

Information about the Catterick Garrison town centre proposal will also be on display in Catterick Community Library from Monday 30 May until Saturday 18 June.

Drop-in engagement events
We are holding a series of 'drop-in' engagement events where members of the development team will be available to talk you through the scheme and answer any questions you may have. These sessions will take place on the following dates:

• Thursday 9 June at Catterick Community Library, from 2pm-6pm
• Friday 10 June at Colburn Village Hall, from 9am-12 noon

❗️Important notice❗️

We are still experiencing a high level of staff sickness across the team due to COVID19. 😞

This week we will only be able to deal with urgent GP/ANP requests. If your issue is not urgent, please wait until next week to contact us.

Today and tomorrow we are especially short of clinical staff so please if possible try not to call us if your problem can wait a few days.

This will hopefully allow us time to get back up and running as a larger team with a greater capacity for taking calls and dealing with patient consultations.

We are really sorry for this but thank you for your continued support.

Please share this post to help spread the word.

COVID Regulations - No Change for General Practice

Although the legal restrictions ended yesterday (24 February 2022). NHS infection control regulations remain in place for healthcare settings including general practice. This means that face masks must still be worn and social distancing observed. These regulations are for the protection of our more vulnerable patients and we ask you for your co-operation in respecting the measures to help keep us all safe.

Thank you!

Donors needed urgently to help boost blood stocks by attending our upcoming blood donation sessions at Catterick Leisure Centre on Tuesday 11th January!

As the NHS continues to catch up on delayed surgeries and treatments, we urgently need more donors to come forward to continue providing patients with lifesaving treatment. We have seen a higher than normal number of donor cancellations.

Each donation we collect can save or improve up to 3 lives; helping people undergoing chemotherapy, needing blood during child birth or to treat blood disorders, to give just three examples.
