Strawberry season 2023 was even better than 2022, and we produced over 1 million punnets of strawberries 🍓

The strawberries that didn’t quite make the cut, but were perfectly fine to use, got sent to be made into our range of conserves and chutneys!

That’s just one way that Annabel’s Deliciously British is working to be as sustainable as possible.

Congratulations to Theakston Brewery on your Re-Independence Day!

Twenty years ago to the day, an important milestone in our company’s history was reached.

This was the day in 2003, after many months of negotiation, my brothers and I finally secured the return of control of T&R Theakston Ltd. back to the family after a period of 19 years.

This followed a takeover battle by Matthew Brown PLC in 1984, which then became part of Scottish & Newcastle PLC in 1987.

It was a moment of great significance for us, enabling us to carry on our family business, founded by our great-great grandfather nearly 200 years ago and now at last, independent once again.

Never has there been a more opportune moment for me, on behalf of my brothers and our entire workforce, to thank our customers and consumers, for their wonderful and loyal support on the journey as we continue to strive to brew the finest beers possible, fuelled by an unquenchable passion.

Celebrate Fountains by Floodlight with an after-dark adventure through the estate from your car...

For those who can't explore Fountains by Floodlight on foot, we're holding a drive through event on Sunday 29 October, from 6pm-8pm. The drive through starts from the Studley Ticket Office, taking you through the estate to finish at the West Gate entrance. You can drive through twice if you like! And, if you wind down your windows, you might be able to hear music playing from the Abbey whilst you drive past.

This event is drive through only so you won't be able to leave your car whilst driving through the estate. The water garden won't be lit.

What we leave behind matters as much as we produce after all.

Some ways we are building a more sustainable business include:
🍓Using “wonky” fruit within our own conserves and chutneys
🍓Collaborating with other brands by providing “wonky” fruit for their products
🍓Having our own hives of up to 2 million honeybees which pollinate our strawberry plants
🍓Using leftover strawberries to power the production of our punnets
🍓Reusing materials as much as we can
🍓Moving to solar energy
🍓Using rainwater for our irrigation
