Loving this 'Fallen Fruit' by Christine Moss set against a flaming red Acer. Get down to the garden this month before we close for the season to see all the 60 sculptures in our 2024 exhibition surrounded by autumn's glory.

Christmas already where did this year go 🤔 Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust

Christmas is fast approaching and we're preparing for our annual 'Carols by Candlelight' services (Sunday 8 & Sunday 15 Dec at 3pm), an opportunity to see the flickering glow of hundreds of candles as you sing along to well known carols accompanied by Ripon City Band.

This year, you'll need to pre-book your ticket online to join in with the service. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 15 November and are limited as the abbey cellarium can only seat a limited number of people. Tickets are free with normal admission.

It’s certainly getting very noisy in the deer park as the annual rut gets underway.

If you’re coming to view or take photos of the rut we ask that you please follow this guidance to help keep everyone safe and to protect the wildlife in the Studley deer park:

🦌 It’s really important that you keep your distance. The stags are very powerful and for your own safety we’d recommend keeping a minimum of 40 meters away. Don’t ever surround the deer as this can panic them which can put you in serious danger. Always put the welfare of the deer first.
🦌 The deer don't see colour the same way that humans do – They can’t spot you in bright coloured clothing but other people can if you need help in an emergency. No need for camouflage.
🦌 Please stick to the paved and mown paths and stay out of the long grass. There are still some late fawning deer around and this is a favourite spot for them to hide.
🦌 Please park in the car park and not along the roads through the deer park.
🦌 As always – dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times in all parts of the deer park.
