Students attending courses. We have received an email from the DVSA relating to theory tests.

We know that pupils can sometimes misplace their theory test certificate ahead of taking their test. We are starting to see more motorcycle candidates who need to bring their theory test certificate arriving for test without it.
So, what should you do if your pupils contact you with this problem?
If it’s more than 24 hours before the test
If there is more than 24 hours before their test, you should advise them to contact our theory test customer services, via email at [email protected].
Our customer service team can provide a digital confirmation of the theory test pass that will be accepted for the purpose of taking the test. This is the best way of ensuring your pupil’s test can still go ahead.
On the day of the test
If one of your pupils cannot find their theory test certificate on the day of the test, they may face losing their fee.
We need to be made aware of the lost certificate as soon as possible. If our examiners have enough time, they will check with the relevant DVSA team that the candidate has the correct entitlement for the test to go ahead. This will avoid a test being terminated unnecessarily.
The responsibility of the candidate
Your pupils must always have a valid theory test certificate before taking their first motorcycle practical test, or any further practical motorcycle tests. Unless they take the progressive access route.
Whilst DVSA will try to ensure that tests are not unnecessarily terminated due to lost theory test certificates, the onus sits with your pupils to ensure that all documents are provided at the start of the test.
