ROCHFORD TUESDAY MARKET HAVE FIVE FOOD AND PRODUCE STALLS;
Fresh Meats from our Butchers ,Fresh Fish from our Fishmonger, Baked Bread and Pies from our Baker, Fruit and Veg from our Greengrocer and a variety of foodstuffs from our food stall.

The Management of Rochford Tuesday Market have been advised of changes of schedule or road closures as below.
Cityfibre Works // South Street (Changes to schedule):

To provide update, a collaboration between Cityfibre and Essex Highways has been agreed so that carriageway patching works can be undertaken under the upcoming road closure of South Street. Please note the below changes made to our schedule to best plan your journeys for the duration of our works:
Phase 1 – Essex Highways - Road closure between Locks Hill and Back Lane to be deployed at 9am on Monday 7th August and remain in place until 6pm on Tuesday 8th August.
Phase 2 – Essex Highways & Cityfibre – A further closure of South Street between Southend Road and Locks Hill is now required to ensure the safety of our contractor as they undertake works at this busy location beyond daylight hours. This may also provide further opportunity to the Essex Highways maintenance team to address deteriorated areas within the lower section of South Street. This closure will be used in conjunction with our multiway light setup on the roundabout of Southend Road/Bradley Way and deployed for two evenings from Tuesday 8th August from 7pm until 5am. Closure and lights will be removed during daytime hours. Overnight access to South Street and Locks Hill will therefore be via diversion.
Phase 3 – Cityfibre - Once the above phases conclude, we will deploy the 24/7 road closure between Locks Hill and Back Lane once again to allow our drilling team to create the link along South Street and into East Street. This closure will be in place until works conclude upon South Street – Estimated completion date 22nd August.
As with all civil works, we may also come across engineering challenges which could require further changes to our plans. We therefore endeavour to provide communicate a further update to reflect progress being made via social media on Wednesday 9th August.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROADWORKS IN YOUR AREA – SOUTH STREET ROAD CLOSURE
CityFibre is building a brand-new fibre network to bring ultrafast and reliable full fibre broadband to almost every
home and business in Rochford, from a range of broadband providers.
Our build partner, Telelink Infra Services, is currently scheduled to initiate roadworks at the above location on
Wednesday 2nd August 2023. The work is anticipated to take 15 days and will be completed under a phased road
closure in conjunction with multiway traffic signals. Further information of the diversionary routes and working
times have been provided overleaf for your awareness.
To install our network at this location, we plan to use directional drilling methods. This work requires large
machinery to remain in situ whilst it bores beneath the ground between various launch and receive pits.
The first phase of work will involve evening works at the junction of Southend Road and Bradley Way using multi
way lights. Traffic lights will be removed each morning to allow traffic to flow along Southend Road, Bradley Way
and into South Street as normal.
Once the first phase completes, we will move to a 24/7 road closure in South Street between Locks Hill and West
Street. A survey of existing services has indicated we will need to excavate the drilling pits within the carriageway,
therefore closing the road is essential for the safety of the public and our teams for the duration of such work. We
anticipate this phase of work to take approximately 13 days. During this time footway closures will also be required
in South Street - Alternative routes for pedestrians will be provided at all times, including maintaining of access to
properties facing onto South Street.
Please be advised, in order to reduce the overall duration in which we will impact a key route through town, we may
also be working extended hours or over the weekends to ensure completion as soon as possible.
As with all civils works, we may also come across engineering challenges which could require changes to our plans.

Closure of South Street 15 days from 3 August 2023

South Street Rochford will be closed from Wednesday 3rd August 2023 for 15 days for Roadworks with multiway traffic lights. Telelink in conjunction with City Fibre will be laying cable for ultra fast broadband.
A representative from Rochford Tuesday met with Company and have been assured that access to Rochford Square and Back lane car park will not be affected.
Rochford Tuesday Market will continue to trade as usual every Tuesday
For your information I attach City Fibres information sheet.
I would emphasise Rochford Tuesday Market will remain open during this period and trust the closure will cause the minimum inconvenience to our customers.

The Market will not operate on the 28th of December .The stalls will be back on the 4th January with the exception of the card stall who will be starting again on the 11th January with new stock.

Rochford Parish Council held the annual Rochford Christmas Festival of Light in Rochford Market Square on Sunday 5h December .
Stilt walkers wandered around the square, where Father Christmas could be found and even the Fire services’ fire and rescue vehicles were on display. Arts and crafts were on display in the WI hall where refreshments were also available.
On the main stage well known local radio presenter Peter Holmes, who is also appearing in local panto, hosted the entertainment led by illusionist Oliver Tabor ably supported by three young singers
The festival was officially opened by Julie Gooding, Chair of the Rochford District Council and local MP James Dudridge.

Rochford Parish Council held the first of their Christmas Fayres in the WI Hall in Rochford, selling craft goods.

The next one will be held on the 11th December from 1pm. Come into Rochford early have a look round the local shops and maybe have lunch or Coffee at one of the many Cafes that are open.

Don’t forget the Market every Tuesday where you can buy groceries, bakery products vegetables and fruit, ladies clothes, shoes, Christmas and birthday cards, cases and bags a range of toys together with a selection of general items and household goods. All good value and served with a smile by our friendly stall holders.

Rochford Parish Council are holding two Christmas Markets in the WI Hall in Rochford, on the 29th November and the 11th December 1pm to 5pm.
