Now we've passed the Summer holidays, we're starting to plan forward to the festive season!

We have availability for stays in Beech Cottage, Fairway View and Copper Cottage which include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day.
We also have breaks between Christmas and New Year and breaks for New Year itself.

Our cottages are dog friendly, so you can bring all of the family.

Rothbury village is a beautiful location to celebrate with family- magically lit with fairy lights and boasting an enormous Christmas tree and nativity scene in the centre of the village.
The shops, restaurants and pubs put on a fantastic effort with decorations in the lead up to Christmas.
Further afield, the market towns of Alnwick and Morpeth are full of festive cheer!
The Alnwick Gardens host visits with Santa and a Christmas Lights trail and are adjoined to Lilidorei, the the largest play structure in the world which has a Christmas village theme!

Bewicks Restaurants usually offer the option of an impressive Christmas lunch, so you won't even need to cook if you fancy a more leisurely day!

Copper Beech Cottages are dog friendly!

Each of the four cottages has an enclosed lawned garden, providing a secure space for dogs to play. There are also gated deckings with garden furniture for the humans to sit out and enjoy the views!

There are a wealth of walks in the local area- woodland, riverside, hillside and moorland, all with scenic backdrops. The Northumberland Coast is only a 30 minute drive, with miles of dog friendly beaches.

Many of the restaurants and pubs in Rothbury are dog friendly, welcoming your furry friends too!

Last night we spotted a full lunar rainbow, 10 minutes outside of Rothbury on Corby Crags (Alnwick Moors).

Lunar rainbows, or moonbows, are much rarer to spot than normal rainbows. Very specific conditions are required for a lunar rainbow to form; a full moon, very dark sky (low light pollution) and water droplets in the air, make great conditions to spot this optical phenomenon.

The best time to spot a lunar rainbow is in the 2-3 hours after sunset, or 2-3 hours before sunrise.

The Northern Lights are showing some beautiful colours in and around Rothbury! These pictures were taken last night on a mobile phone....such a fantastic natural phenomenon to witness!

Copper Beech Cottages are located close to the Northumberland National Park, a designated Dark Skies Park, ideal for stargazing and spotting the Aurora Borealis at this time of year!

The Aurora was visible from the decking areas of Copper Beech Cottages...magical!
